Sandra Bullock’s surprise appearance at Nashville Rising concert

Sandra Bullock made a surprise appearance at the Nashville Rising concert for flood relief.

The crowd went crazy as the 45 year-old walked on stage to introduce country music star Faith Hill, wife of her Blind Side co-star Tim McGraw.

The soon-to-be-divorced actress revealed that when McGraw approached her about participating in the benefit, she jumped at the chance to get involved.

“When they told me how much you all contributed, I realised I really had to do more than be funny. So, I’m going to contribute some music and do it Nashville style,” Bullock said, according to USweekly.com.

To the audience’s surprise, Bullock then pulled up a stool, whipped out an acoustic guitar and attempted to play Deep Purple’s Smoke on the Water. However, after just a few bars, Bullock confessed she was a terrible guitarist and introduced Hill, whom she described as “disgustingly beautiful” and “extraordinary”.

Mariah Carey wants to buy Michael Jackson furniture

Posted on Jun 25, 2010 under Mariah Carey, Michael Jackson | No Comment

It seems that the diva wants to get more stuff to enrich her feeling of self-importance so she has ordered her interior designer to place some bids on bits of furniture that belonged to Michael Jackson. The problem is that such an auction might not take place according to the late pop legend’s brother, Randy Jackson: “My bro stopped this auction before… I will do my best with Julien Auction House but I can only do so much. Ultimately my mom has the power to stop this, not me. This frustrates me. I know my brother wouldn’t want this.” Yes… Michael Jackson must have foreseen the rise of the great diva Mariah Carey and he knew it would be disastrous for her to get her hands on his ancient artifacts.

Ramones Drummer Wants Money

Posted on Jun 25, 2010 under Band, News | No Comment

Marky Ramone, the Ramones’ longest standing drummer, claims that he’s getting screwed out of his cut of the band’s royalties and he is now trying to legally beat on the people responsible with a big fat lawsuit. According to the documents filed in New York Supreme Court, the rock icon whose real name is Marc Bell claims that he inked a royalties deal in 2005. However, payouts mysteriously stopped in 2008 because of some allegedly shady business deals. He claims that the people in charge of distributing royalties completely snubbed the 2005 contract. The punk legend claims that he’s owed a $175,000 cut and over $1 million in punitive damages.

Paul McCartney reveals the truth about Beatles films

Posted on Jun 24, 2010 under Paul McCartney, beatles | No Comment

Even though his ego may get a bit tickled by the fact that movies about The Beatles are still being made, Paul McCartney says that they aren’t at all accurate. This is what he related on the matter: “It’s a great tribute that whatever we did is so lasting and people can still make films about The Beatles which can still be successful. For me, though, they’re not true and that’s the unfortunate thing about them. John never punched me out like he does in ‘Nowhere Boy,’ but my character is kind of cool in the film so I don’t mind being punched out. I told the film director Sam all of that but she said, ‘Yeah. But Paul, it’s just a film.’” Well, in all fairness that is accurate… it’s just a movie and The Beatles were just a band, no more need be said about all of these tributes.

Lady GaGa’s video incomes

Posted on Jun 24, 2010 under Lady Gaga, Video | No Comment

It looks like being Lady GaGa and making a music video can turn into a very profitable venture. For the opportunity to star in the nine-minute promo for Lady GaGa’s “Alejandro”, a certain Russian gentleman whose name has remained undisclosed has apparently paid the singer no less than one million dollars. Now that’s a pretty penny coming from someone so mysterious. Apparently the lad in question is the cop dressed in black leather hat and a coat. Of course that is about all that is known and Lady GaGa isn’t going to share anything more. After all, she wouldn’t want to upset this mysterious benefactor of hers.

No Glee movie in the works

Internet rumours that a big-screen version of hit TV series Glee may be a possibility have been rejected by the creator of the show, Ryan Murphy.

Entertainment Weekly reports that Murphy has denied there are any plans for a move into film, saying: “There will be no Glee movie in the foreseeable future.

“Despite overtures, I and the studio [Fox] have decided we want to put our energy into the second season with no distractions for the cast.”

The first season of the Golden Globe-winning show, starring Jane Lynch (pictured), recently drew to a close with the second season slated to air in 2011.

Bon Jovi Fires Manager

Posted on Jun 23, 2010 under Bon Jovi | No Comment

Bon Jovi has fired their long time manager Jack Rovner after it was reported that he messed up a couple of times during their current promotional tour. The first involved the sale of $1000 VIP tickets which included a meet and greet with the band but fans complained that they were never granted access to meet the rock stars. Then the band was booked in an “artist in residence” gig on NBC which prevented them from doing any promos on other networks. The real icing on top of the cake was when Jack became responsible for the Showtime documentary ‘When We Were Beautiful’ in which “Jon makes the rest of the band admit they are paid employees and owe everything to him.” The singer and the rest of the band released a pretty boring statement regarding the split saying that they just wanted to go in a different direction.

Kevin Jonas surprised his wife Danielle with a treasure hunt to celebrate their six-month wedding anniversary.

Kevin, 22, married the former hairdresser just before Christmas last year in front of their friends and family at Oheka Castle in New York.

Danielle, also 22, posted pictures on her Twitter page of the hunt that she was sent on by her new hubby.

A note from her husband Kevin read: “Hey Baby Treasure hunt time! Happy 6 months baby I love you so much its crazy.

“So here are your instructions. Grab your new camera and film when you can and head to your first stop!

“Hurry I’m waiting. Just ask for your next clue.”

MIA Needs to Let Go

Posted on Jun 22, 2010 under Lady Gaga | No Comment

MIA is still going after the recent article done on her in The New York Times Magazine and if that isn’t enough crazy for you, the rapper goes on to slam Lady Gaga. She said of the princess of pop “Lady Gaga is someone who lives completely within [the industry]. That’s what you can get if you say ‘yes.’ I would have those outfits on and my hair would look like that and those are the songs I would sing. Everybody else on my label’s budget would get cut in order for my Grammy performance with Elton John to be banging.” I get the whole nonconformist thing but this is too much.

Peter Andre got his prize

Posted on Jun 19, 2010 under Peter Andre | No Comment

It looks like the singer’s many stressful nights and vicious battles with his former wife Katie Price have paid off… to some extent at least. Peter Andre was recently named Celebrity Dad of the Year in a poll organized by the Bounty Parenting Club. This is what he said about winning this award: “This feels so good. It’s been a turnaround year for me and the kids and it’s an honor to be the subject of the public’s support and best wishes. This means a huge amount to me as being a dad is my most important role.” Surely Peter Andre is beside himself with joy… now if only his good parenting skills would be appreciated by the people in charge of custody for his children.

Michael Jackson Video Game

Posted on Jun 18, 2010 under Games, Michael Jackson | No Comment

I was hoping that a year after his death, the onslaught of Michael Jackson memorabilia would have lost its appeal. However, fans of the King of Pop will get to live out their fantasies this Christmas as a new video game, currently untitled but approved by the family, will allow players to sing some of the late singer’s most memorable music and flex out to some of his most famous moves. The game will be compatible with Microsoft’s Xbox 360, Sony’s PlayStation 3 and the hand-held controllers on Nintendo’s Wii system. Is the new MJ video game going to be on your wish list?

Mitch Winehouse Album

Posted on Jun 17, 2010 under Amy Winehouse | No Comment

Amy Winehouse’s dad, Mitch Winehouse, apparently has an album out. The jazz album is made up of mostly covers but it does feature 4 original tracks. With his new music career, Mitch actually things that he has enough know-how to give Wino some tips. The wannabe singer said “I mean, if I became a huge success I’d have a retinue of hangers-on and I’d be able to order people around and I’d show Amy how to really be a diva…You know, I’d really show her how to do it. I mean my dressing room that they’ve got for me here today is like a broom closet and there’s no Jack Daniels or champagne in there. I think it’s an absolute disgrace. I’ll show Amy how to do it big time.”

Jason Mraz Does Good

Posted on Jun 16, 2010 under Celebrity | No Comment

Jason Mraz became the first celebrity to take part on the ground with ‘Free the Slaves’, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to end slavery worldwide. The pop singer traveled to Ghana this past week and spent 5 days in the country traveling with a former child slave to learn more about the injustice. James Kofi Annan, Jason’s guide, founded a school where many former slaves come to learn and be free. Peggy Callahan, the organization’s co-founder, said that it was great for her and the kids to see the singer’s involvement, saying “The movement to end slavery really needs more voices, but they really need to be authentic voices, people who really do care about an issue. And Jason’s one of those people, and he’s willing to take the time to find out.” Kudos to Jason for doing good.

Lea Michele is set to follow the yellow brick road, with reports that the actress has signed on to play Dorothy in a new big-screen, 3-D musical about the girl with the ruby slippers.

Dorothy Of Oz is set the day after she returns to Kansas, and sees her return to Oz in search of the Tin Man, Lion and the Scarecrow.

Kelsey Grammer, Dan Aykroyd, Martin Short, Jim Belushi, Hugh Dancy, Patrick Stewart, and Oliver Platt are also to star in the project, E Online reports.

Despite being a veteran of musical theatre, this movie would mark the Glee star’s first big-screen performance.

Kylie Minogue Talks Babies

Posted on Jun 16, 2010 under Kylie Minogue | No Comment

Kylie Minogue has always been a determined woman but she does realize that something she wants may just be out of her grasp. The singer is already 42-years old and her body has gone through lots of stress since battling breast cancer in 2005. Her cancer has been in remission for almost 5 years but she still continues to take medication to keep it at bay. These are all factors that make her feel that it would be difficult for her to get pregnant. Kylie said “I’d love to have babies, but, it’s very hard. Perhaps if you are resolutely sure that is not the path you want to go down, that’s ok. But if there is an element of doubt, you can’t help but question it. It’s not fun.”

Destiny’s Child has a lucky two out of three

Posted on Jun 14, 2010 under Beyonce, Destiny Child | No Comment

It’s still better than Beyonce just going around singing with a different name. It looks like the Destiny’s Child girls got together to watch Jay-Z’s concert a few days ago… and by the girls one must understand Beyonce and Kelly Rowland because Michelle Williams was nowhere to be seen. Oh well, two out of three is still a good enough odd to be had… after all, the fans and former fans will nimble at it all the same. And it’s not like they haven’t been able to find somebody else to fill in the gap in past years… the band will go on.
