Courtney Love reportedly remains sour over engaging an iconic make-up artist for the Oscars only to see him turn his attention to Nicole Kidman instead.

Contact Music reports Love claims she hired the late Kevyn Aucoin, an idol to the celeb-gay world, to get her ready for a turn on the red carpet in 1997. She flew out the New York artist only to see him spend most of her time on Kidman’s china doll face.

Love said of Aucoin: “I had to share him with Nicole Kidman. All of a sudden, Kevyn had to do her sister’s, Tom Cruise’s mother, Tom Cruise’s sister. He was so apologetic. When Kevyn did my make-up that day, he was done by noon, and he gave me a teeny weeny little sponge with some powder on it, and I was done. I went to the Academy Awards around 3pm. I was nervous and all that stuff. But that s**t stayed on.”

Love allegedly footed Aucoin’s visit. She added: “The bill came for his flight, and I paid for it. I’m that big of a sucker. I should have fought with her [Kidman].”

Aucoin died in 2002 of a brain tumour at age 40.

Hollywood stars Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes and their young daughter Suri Cruise have arrived in Melbourne.

Cruise was glimpsed by television cameras walking down the steps of an aircraft carrying an apparently sleeping Suri, her head buried in his shoulder.

The high power couple arrived in their private jet at suburban Essendon airport at the start of winter today – out of the way of international airport crowds, media and traffic.

The pair were expected to make their way to the luxury suite awaiting them at the Crown Casino, a glitzy tower that fits into Melbourne’s futuristic new skyline.

Holmes will work at a Docklands’ movie studio on Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark in what is being reported as a media-free zone.

The lockdown is one of many attempts to roll out the best in star treatment for the Cruises.

Cruise has a previous connection with Australia through his former wife, Nicole Kidman, and the attention and economy he generated making Mission Impossible II in Sydney.

The country singer – whose wife Nicole Kidman is expecting the couple’s first child in July – is looking forward to the imminent arrival and admits while they know the sex of the baby they are keeping it secret.

He said: “I’m very excited about it. We know the gender but I’m not saying. I’m glad we found out though, because it brought it home, you know what I’m saying.”

The couple – who married in 2006 – announced Nicole’s pregnancy in January. Following the announcement, Nicole and Keith were pictured grinning broadly while shopping together in Paddington, Australia.

Asked how they were feeling about the news, Nicole said: “Very excited. We are thrilled!”

Nicole – who has suffered miscarriages in the past – already has two adopted children, Isabella, 15, and Connor, 13, with her ex-husband Tom Cruise.

Nicole and Keith met at a black-tie ball for Australians living in Los Angeles in summer 2005.

You’d think there’d be some nastiness going on between the two. After all, Nicole Kidman used to be married to Katie Holmes’ husband Tom Cruise. They even have children together.

Not so…in fact, Katie says she’s happy for Nicole. She said, “I’m so happy for her. It’s wonderful!”

No reason for Katie to hold a grudge. She has a beautiful little girl with Tom Cruise. Now Nicole will have her own reason to smile with new husband Keith Urban.
