Now that Jennifer Lopez has been axed from her position on the panel of judges on American Idol, Nick Cannon has revealed that his wife, Mariah Carey, may be considering the job. He said “You know what? She talks about it. She says, ‘I would love to do that.’ She is one of the greatest singers of our time; she would be great. I don’t know if she has enough time, though, but if they could work with her schedule, I know she would love to do ‘Idol.’ Let’s start the campaign!” I find one problem there though. JLo was supposedly axed for being a big diva, so why replace one big diva singer with an even bigger one?
It seems that the diva wants to get more stuff to enrich her feeling of self-importance so she has ordered her interior designer to place some bids on bits of furniture that belonged to Michael Jackson. The problem is that such an auction might not take place according to the late pop legend’s brother, Randy Jackson: “My bro stopped this auction before… I will do my best with Julien Auction House but I can only do so much. Ultimately my mom has the power to stop this, not me. This frustrates me. I know my brother wouldn’t want this.” Yes… Michael Jackson must have foreseen the rise of the great diva Mariah Carey and he knew it would be disastrous for her to get her hands on his ancient artifacts.
Or at least that is what her husband Nick Cannon claims. Apparently Mariah Carey doesn’t only enjoy a good hearty meal, but she also makes it herself and her husband relates: “Mariah’s a great cook. She likes to make fun dishes. You know, the pizzas with the English muffins and the mozzarella? We do that a lot. She makes her own sauce. She’s skilled like that.” Who would’ve thought that the biggest diva in pop music would be a skilled cook? Probably no one and that might be the reason why exactly that many people will believe that Mariah Carey actually cooks her own food.
Mariah Carey is planning to make her life into a stage musical. The only good news about all this is that she has the good sense to not play herself. The curvaceous singer does have someone absolutely fabulous in mind to play her though – Leona Lewis. An insider said “Mariah secretly likes the idea of Leona Lewis playing her. Not only is she exotic, she’s the only one who they reckon would be able to tackle Mariah’s eight-octave vocal range.” I wonder if the score will feature just Mariah’s music. If that’s the case, I’m pretty sure this won’t push through.
Last week Simon Cowell embarked on the endeavor of making a mega-hit single that would help the victims of the Haiti earthquakes. And what mega-hit single could even be a hit if Mariah Carey wasn’t singing on it. So the music lord pulled a few strings and he got Mariah Carey to participate in his grand design. This is what Simon Cowell said on the matter: “We’re getting there. We have had an incredible amount of support. It’s amazing these great singers are clearing their schedules to make this happen. I just found out Mariah has changed her schedule to be able to do this too. It says such a lot that everyone is working so hard to help Haiti. This is something that really matters to us all and I’m so grateful for the support we are getting.” Well, if Mariah Carey actually cleared her schedule than it really is a big deal. But then again, Simon Might just get the chance to regret that she’ll be there to do her part too.
It seems Mariah Carey has really taken her diva status to the next level. While receiving the award for people’s choice best R&B artist, when she got on stage, there was something pretty strange about Mariah Carey. You could’ve sworn she had drunk too much. Apparently, this is not even the first but the second time Mariah Carey pulls a stunt like this. Looks like somebody’s been having a bit too many martinis but at least her speeches are fun to watch. She seems a lot friendlier like that, maybe deep down inside, Mariah Carey is not as big of a diva as she so desperately tries to prove to be.
It seems that the diva’s latest album cannot go without the complimentary tour in which Mariah Carey can grace the entire world with her talent. Mariah Carey will be taking to the road in 2010 through the US together with her husband Nick Cannon… somebody has to open for her, right? And who would Mariah Carey actually find to put up with her… very exigent behavioral pattern except for Nick Cannon. This is going to be loads of fun! Just imagine: Mariah Carey, brain damaging everybody with absurd requests from coast to coast. That’s probably going to be the tour’s headline.
This really wasn’t that big a mystery to be honest, but it’s interesting to see how honest Mariah Carey’s husband, Nick Cannon, is about her musical preferences. When asked if his wife likes to hear her own music at home, Nick Cannon replied with the following: “We’re talking about Mariah Carey. Of course she loves to hear herself.” It’s so good that Mariah Carey has such an honest husband… their marriage must really be a blast and it’s probably going to be even more of a blast after this. Mariah Carey has released a new song. And with that release, I can unofficially say that her mediocre streak has finally come to an end. ‘100%’ was written for the singer’s Oscar-worthy new film ‘Precious’. And as much as I hate to say it, I like the song. No, scratch that. I absolutely love the song. It’s too bad that whoever chose this song to be sung by her and to be part of the film wasn’t the same person who was working on what songs to put on her album too. I’m sure whoever that guy was could have made a world of difference with the way her music career is going if he was.
The singer who recently filmed a commercial in which she appears together with her dogs insisted that she is no way a diva. Mariah Carey’s words really do tell the entire story: “My puppies are starring in this ad with me, too. I had my team with me but the pups had a mini entourage of their own, of course! And why wouldn’t they? It was a big shoot and even my entourage had an entourage – my stylist had an assistant, my security had extra security. The shoot was based on the fact that some people think I’m a demanding diva. I have no idea why people have that impression!” So, not only is Mariah Carey a diva, but she’s also giving those around her that diva-like behavior. You can just picture one of her bodyguards hiring his own muscle and giving the fact that he is the one protects Mariah Carey as a reason for him needing protection.

You can download the album for the bargain price of $5.99. Why not just give it away? Most people would still think that her asking price is too much. Heck, someone made a review of her album and gave it just one star out of a possible five. I think that if they could, they would give it no stars. I know I would.
Mariah Carey and her hubby Nick Cannon were spotted walking hand in hand into Mr. Chow restaurant on Wednesday in Beverly Hills. The 28-year old Nick escorted his 39-year old wife, opening the doors and keeping close to his side. I guess chivalry isn’t dead after all. In other news, Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry recently announced their support for Lionsgate’s distribution of ‘Push: Based on the Novel by Sapphire’ which Mariah stars in alongside Paula Patton, Sherri Shepherd and Lenny Kravitz. That’s a miracle! If Oprah’s supporting it then I guess that it’s good. Mariah and a good movie don’t usually go together.
According to a new casting notice, Nick Cannon will now be directing his wife Mariah Carey’s next music video. That just seems like a disaster waiting to happen if you ask me. The video will be for the song ‘My Love’. Auditions were held in North Hollywood last Wednesday for actors and extras to appear in the video. The so-called lucky ones that made it past the auditions reportedly shot the video just this Saturday in Los Angeles. I wonder if there were any breaks for the couple to get some loving from each other or if it was purely professional.

Recently Mariah Carey told, “It’s not that we had no intimacy. It’s just me, and my feelings. I definitely don’t want to push it on anybody else. But we both have similar beliefs, and I just thought that it would be so much more special if we waited until after we were married. And it was, and it still is.”

One of the diva’s assistants recently went out to baby store to the stars, LA’s Petit Tresor, to talk about nursery décor. Her people reportedly asked if the store could send fabric samples and about a butterfly theme. Mariah’s manager has been denying pregnancy rumors by Mariah herself said that having children is “part of the whole purpose of getting married.” We’ll just have to see when the time comes – in a few months perhaps.
Days after the singer sparked engagement rumours when she was pictured wearing a diamond ring, it has now been revealed she tied the knot with rapper Nick Cannon in the Caribbean.
According to reports, the “very impulsive” ceremony took place at Mariah’s new home in the Bahamas on Wednesday.
Mariah’s nephew added fuel to the speculation with messages posted on the social networking website Facebook. Updates made by Shawn McDonald to his page this week referred to him going to the Bahamas and acting as a witness.
Family member Linda Cannon confirmed the news, saying: “Nick called us and told us all about it. We are happy for him. If that is what he wants then we are happy for him. I’m not going to give you any details, but we are happy for him.”
Another source confirmed the news, adding that there was no pre-nuptial agreement as “there wasn’t time”. It was reported yesterday that the $2.5 million ring Mariah has been sporting was originally given to Nick’s ex, Selita Ebanks.
However, jewellers Jacob and Co. have dismissed the suggestion, saying they designed the 17 carat pink diamond ring after he split from Selita. Mariah and Nick began dating after he directed the video for her single, ‘Bye Bye’, in March.
Mariah Carey has an interview in the new issue of Allure and she talks about how she understands why people may call her a ‘ditzy moron’. Talk about being self-aware. The curvaceous diva says “It’s a dichotomy, I understand. I understand that people think I am a ditzy moron. I’ve always had really low self-esteem, and I still do. What’s weird about that is being onstage, and the love that you get … It’s hard for a partner to compete.” And it’s that sense of competition that she goes on to say that if she marries again, she’ll marry someone in the business of showbiz.
