Kylie’s Royal Treatment

Pop Princess Kylie Minogue was glowing as she left Buckingham Palace in London this morning. The international superstar proudly showed off her OBE medal to the assembled photographers waiting for her. The Australian singer was one of the lucky few to receive an Order of the British Empire from Prince Charles. She’s obviously proud of it. I wonder what it’s for though. Can someone tell me? I’m not really familiar with all the royal awards. I’m not sure what qualifies you to get an OBE. I don’t even know what qualifies you to be a knight or dame. The only royalty I know is music royalty anyway. I could care less for Prince Charles.

Kylie Minogue goes Geisha for new tour

kylie-minogue.jpg

Kylie Minogue is a Geisha again. For her new tour, Kylie has gone back to an image she first used a decade ago.

Jean Paul Gaultier has designed 7 costumes for her on the upcoming KylieX2008 tour that starts in Paris on May 6. For the tour, Kylie has a new band, for the first time a brass section, 14 dancers and 4 acrobats.

There will be one surprise cover in the set. We’ll have to wait until the Paris show to find out that will be.

This tour will visit some new territory for Kylie. For the first time, she will perform in Greece, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Luxembourg, Russia, Latvia and Spain. The European leg of the tour ends in London on August 4.

The Australian tour is expected to happen in November.

I may never be Kylie the mum

Kylie Minogue says she may never settle down and have a family.

The singer, who beat breast cancer, does dream about a permanent relationship and a family.

But she admits: “On other days, I think perhaps this is not right for me. I never had the feeling of a conventional marriage. It comes down to how much love you have in you – and if you are ready to give that love.”

Kylie, 40 next month, denies she is seeing old flame Olivier Martinez, 40.

Kylie Minogue to have Happy New Year

Kylie Minogue

You would be looking forward to the New Year too if you were Kylie Minogue. She has learned she’ll pick up an Order of the British Empire (OBE) medal after landing a place on Queen Elizabeth II’s New Year Honours List. The 39-year-old cancer survivor is loved worldwide, and although native Australian she has been in her adopted Britain for more than 20 years.

Personally I can’t think of anyone better to receive the honour. She is a fab artist; keeping up with the times with class and style – though perhaps in a few dodgy outfits. And after her courageous battle with breast cancer she has come out the other side with a smile on her face and a determination to return to her career. A big ‘hurrah!’ for Kylie Minogue.
