Kelly Clarkson celebrated her 28th birthday in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The singer even wore a Hello Kitty garter as a headband. The American Idol alum shared “It was AWESOME!! My band and crew threw a surprise party for me complete with a sunflower cake, celebrity impersonators & lots of dancing! Here are some pictures I thought I’d share with ya’ll. Thanks to everyone who sent me birthday wishes. I had a super birthday. ” Happy birthday Kelly! It sure sounded like she had an awesome time. I kind of wish that I had been there for all the fun and laughs.
Kelly Clarkson’s controversial Indonesia concert will go on without a sponsor. The American Idol alum’s April 29th concert was supposed to be sponsored by cigarette brand LA Lights but after reaching an agreement with the brand’s parent company Djarum , promoter Adrie Subono told the Associated Press that “there will be no [L.A. Lights] media promotion at the Kelly Clarkson concert”. ABC News notes that Alicia Keys was involved in a similar predicament two years ago when she learned that her show in Indonesia was sponsored by a Philip Morris affiliate. The singer insisted that the logo be removed from her promotional materials and performed the show once it was free of the cigarette sponsorship.
During her Breakaway tour back in 2005, a guitarist on Kelly Clarkson’s show named Dwayne has his ass handed back to him by the original American Idol in front of a packed house. Years later and this video has just surfaced for all of us to be entertained. This is the most amazing thing I’ve seen her do. Though there’s not much of a clue what exactly it is that the guy did, if you watch the video, it’s clear that the singer got pissed off so much that she fired him on stage, mid-song and she didn’t even miss a beat.
UK’s The X Factor winner Alexandra Burke recently released a brand new video for her song ‘Bad Boys’ featuring rapper Flo Rida. The song is the lead single from the singer’s upcoming debut album ‘Overcome’, which is scheduled to come out on October 12. The video was directed by Bryan Barber, who also did Kelly Clarkson’s ‘I Do Not Hook Up’ and Outkast’s ‘Hey Ya’. Personally, I haven’t watched Alexandra’s video yet. But considering that the company she’s keeping have good things going for them, I’m going to trust my gut and say that I think it’s a good video regardless if I haven’t watched it yet. Here’s another celebrity who is too secure about herself that she has the guts to admit that she does not look perfect without cosmetics and well, Photoshop! Oscar nominee Kate Winslet earlier admitted she has imperfect skin sans makeup. It’s Kelly Clarkson’s turn to admit imperfection this time around as she said the perfect-looking photo of her on the cover of her “All I Ever Wanted” CD has been photoshopped. Clarkson, who is projecting a sexy image, said no one wakes up perfect and little girls should be aware of this.
Clarkson, who was in a Dove-sponsored self-esteem workshop last February 11, said everyone whose face is in the magazine has been photoshopped. She said even the world’s most beautiful girl Beyonce gets photoshopped too and that just proves they are human. The 26-year old singer said she also gets hurt when people pick on her and her size but no one can please everyone so she has stopped trying. Clarkson knows where she’s coming from, having been a winner of the American Idol. She chided people for embarrassing women for having cellulite and said of course, women have cellulite because they are not fembots!
