Whitney Houston Dedicates Concert to Daughter

Posted on Mar 08, 2010 under Concert, Whitney Houston | 2 Comments

Despite reports that the diva couldn’t handle the workload of her ‘Nothing but Love’ tour, Whitney Houston is apparently back on her game in Australia and being a wonderful mom to boot. During her Wednesday concert, the singer announced that it was her daughter Bobbi Kristina’s 17th birthday and dedicated the song ‘Who Would Imagine a King’ to her. A source said “[It's] one of Krissy’s favorites, and is not in the show.” Whitney then got her daughter and a cake on stage and sang ‘Happy Birthday’ along with the audience. Isn’t that sweet? Kudos to Whitney for thinking up a great surprise and actually doing a good show.

Take That News

Posted on Mar 03, 2010 under Concert, Robbie Williams | No Comment

Sources have confirmed that Robbie Williams and the other guys of Take That have completed five tracks off their new album. With those tracks laid out, it is likely that a new album could be out by the end of this year. However, there is one other announcement the source made that might put you into a foul mood. As of now, the band has no intention to tour in support of the new album. In fact, they may not even make any public appearances at all. That’s definitely a big bummer. But at least there’s some new music to look forward to.

Lady GaGa’s new concert plans

Posted on Feb 24, 2010 under Concert, Lady Gaga | No Comment

It looks like Lady GaGa is running a bit short on ideas as to how to make her concerts more… special. So she’s decided that the best thing to do in this situation would be to wear a fake penis on the show. This is what Lady GaGa said about her new idea: “I want to wear a dick strapped to my vagina. We all know that one of the biggest talking points of the year was that I have a dick, so why not give them what they want? I also carry myself onstage in a masculine way and sing in a low register. This is not of nowhere, right? I want to comment on that in a beautiful, artistic way. How I wanna show it. And I want to call this piece ‘Lady Gaga Dies Hard.’ Come on, come see me try to persuade everyone to let me wear a penis.” Now it’s probably just a matter of time before Lady GaGa starts showing up with the real thing. The gauntlet has been thrown…

Beyonce’s latest tumble

Posted on Feb 09, 2010 under Beyonce, Concert, LIVE | No Comment

It seems that she’s actually trying to establish a new record. Beyonce’s last concert almost met with a bit of an embarrassing accident as he high-heels slipped on the stage almost leading to the fall of this grand star. But Beyonce’s shows wouldn’t be worth so much money if she weren’t able to make even the most embarrassing looking accident look like a stage move. To the untrained eye, Beyonce’s little tumble might have seemed like a performance gimmick. This must be why she has so many fans, especially so many well paying fans that just shower her with big plump checks.

Glee in Concert

Posted on Jan 22, 2010 under Concert, Glee | 1 Comment

‘Glee’ star Cory Monteith recently took to his Twitter to announce some amazing news! The actor wrote “there is going to be a live #glee concert tour! in select cities; limited appearances. announcement and details soon. so excited!!!” I can’t wait for that one! That’s a very good way for us fans to be satiated until the hit TV series returns to the small screen in April. I wonder if each member of the cast gets a solo performance. If so, I hope Matthew Morrison gets to perform songs from his upcoming album. And I can’t wait for that one to drop too!

George Clooney reveals celebrity line-up of Haiti charity show

Posted on Jan 18, 2010 under Actors, Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Concert, Justin Timberlake | No Comment

George Clooney has revealed the line-up for his charity telethon will include performances from Bono, Sting, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera and Alicia Keys.

Clooney said that more than 40 celebrities are expected to attend the “Hope for Haiti” event on January 22.

He added that the aim of the benefit is “to show the people of Haiti that the whole world is paying attention”.

He said: “We’re doing a telethon on all the channels, every network in the country and international as well. It’s an unbelievable show. Bono’s written a song for it and songs are going to available on iTunes that night.

“People in Haiti have absolutely nothing. There are times when, as bad as it is for many people in this country, people also realise how much worse it is for them and they are very compassionate.”

Kelly Clarkson Fires Guitarist On Stage

Posted on Jan 03, 2010 under American Idol, Concert, Kelly Clarkson, Video | No Comment

During her Breakaway tour back in 2005, a guitarist on Kelly Clarkson’s show named Dwayne has his ass handed back to him by the original American Idol in front of a packed house. Years later and this video has just surfaced for all of us to be entertained. This is the most amazing thing I’ve seen her do. Though there’s not much of a clue what exactly it is that the guy did, if you watch the video, it’s clear that the singer got pissed off so much that she fired him on stage, mid-song and she didn’t even miss a beat.

Mariah Carey hitting the road

Posted on Dec 07, 2009 under Concert, Concert Tour, Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon | No Comment

It seems that the diva’s latest album cannot go without the complimentary tour in which Mariah Carey can grace the entire world with her talent. Mariah Carey will be taking to the road in 2010 through the US together with her husband Nick Cannon… somebody has to open for her, right? And who would Mariah Carey actually find to put up with her… very exigent behavioral pattern except for Nick Cannon. This is going to be loads of fun! Just imagine: Mariah Carey, brain damaging everybody with absurd requests from coast to coast. That’s probably going to be the tour’s headline.

Lady GaGa’s chronic sadness

Posted on Dec 01, 2009 under Concert, Concert Tour, Lady Gaga | No Comment

It seems the highly successful singer has some emotional issues she needs to deal with… thankfully, she’s already accepted to live with them for the moment. This is what Lady GaGa said on the matter: “The lowest point is loneliness, being on the road. I have a chronic sadness that recurs. The lowest point was in Australia in May. I was overwhelmingly sad, and I didn’t know why because I had all these things to be happy about.” Well, if Lady GaGa actually gave the matter a bit of thought, she’d realize that sadness is a “chronic disease” since nobody really gets “cured” of it… or she might just be bipolar, in which case Lady GaGa needn’t worry since that is after all and artist’s disease.

Don’t Mess with Morrissey

Posted on Nov 23, 2009 under Concert, Singers | No Comment

I wouldn’t mess with Morrissey even if I was given a pretty good chance of surviving. At one of the singer’s concerts in Hamburg, Morrissey kicked out a fan who didn’t appreciate a joke that he made onstage that ‘Hamburgers’ should be called ‘Hamburgists’. An audience member shouted “fuck you” at the singer, prompting the diva to have security remove the concertgoer from the show and telling him “you can fuck yourself”. Well, didn’t he figure that he could have been offensive? I doubt that he was in the right in that one. Oh well, the guy already paid anyway. If Morrissey gets the money, I don’t think he has anything else to complain about.

Robbie Williams’ tour problems

Posted on Nov 19, 2009 under Concert, Concert Tour, Robbie Williams | No Comment

The singer has recently declared his unwillingness to do any more tours since every time he does them he ends up in rehab and/or gaining too much weight… at least that’s what Robbie Williams thinks about it. But what about the Take That comeback? What about the great shows Robbie Williams was going to do with his old singing buddies? Or is just the solo tours that mess Robbie Williams up? Or might it be the fact that aliens have taken over his mind and his girlfriend dresses their dog up? That might be enough for anybody to go on a sugar binge and end up in rehab.

Michael Jackson Flick Makes Bank

Posted on Nov 17, 2009 under Concert, Michael Jackson, Movies | No Comment

After two weeks in theaters, Michael Jackson’s film ‘This is It’, which documented the King of Pop’s final tour rehearsal, has taken in over $200 million internationally! Wow! That takes the cake for the highest grossing concert movie of all time! Although the late singer’s film brought in just $61 million in North America, it has made over $140 million overseas. Japan leads the pack in numbers with $27.2 million, followed by the UK with $14.3 million. It just goes to show how much Michael will be missed. Unfortunately for us, with this type of information, Joe Jackson is likely to be plotting his next move to cash in on his son’s fortune.

Leona Lewis overcomes fears

Posted on Nov 04, 2009 under Concert, Leona Lewis | No Comment

Even though she may still be a bit shaken-up by that so-called fan of hers attacking, Leona Lewis is apparently back on track as she now wishes to embrace her fears and embark on a world tour. This is what Leona Lewis said after performing in London recently: “I wasn’t nervous until I got to the side of the stage, then I started shaking. I felt it went so fast – and now I just want to do it again. I can’t wait to tour next year.” This goes out as a heads up for all Leona Lewis “fans” across the world… soon there may be a book-signing close to you!

Bon Jovi Raise Prices

Posted on Oct 29, 2009 under Bon Jovi, Concert | No Comment

Bon Jovi is pretty much charging an arm and a leg for the band’s upcoming gigs at the O2 Arena in London and their fans are pretty upset about it. The upper tier ranges from 45 to 75 pounds while floor seating costs up to 200 pounds. An angry fan even started a website voicing concerns over ticket prices, explained “This means I’d have to pay £200 to get a good spot to see the band perform. Last time they played London I paid £75 for the same spot. And then I’m not even talking about the booking fees…” I have to admit – the prices are steep for any concert really, much less a Bon Jovi concert.

Beyonce Postpones

Posted on Oct 23, 2009 under Beyonce, Beyonce Knowles, Concert | No Comment

Beyonce had a show slated for Malaysia this week but she has decided to postpone the concert, allegedly due to Islamic extremist criticism of her performing style. Due to her so-called provocative clothes and choreography, conservatives of the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party think that the show would be immoral and should be cancelled. Promoters of the singer’s show would not confirm whether the postponement was in response to the criticism but they did confirm that it would be rescheduled for a “future date to be announced shortly.” If Avril Lavigne and Gwen Stefani could make it work in Malaysia, Beyonce sure can too!

U2 Concert to Stream Live on YouTube

Posted on Oct 23, 2009 under Concert, LIVE, U2, Video, YouTube | No Comment

U2 have confirmed via video blog that their sold-out concert at the Pasadena Rose Bowl in California, Sunday 25th October 2009 will be streamed free, in full and live on YouTube. It’s the first time a show of this size will be streamed live.

The Rose Bowl show is the penultimate U2 show this year – with more to come in 2010 – and already is set to host the venue’s biggest ever audience of over 96, 000 fans. The 360˚ Tour, which has been critically acclaimed and “re-invents rock’n’roll”*, will now boast unique access for fans worldwide – as fans in territories yet to be visited by the tour, or not at all, will be able to enjoy the whole show online. Managed in partnership with Live Nation, this sell-out tour has broken attendance records in most venues it has visited – its success due in part to increased capacity coupled with a lower ticket price and great sight lines afforded by the stunning in-the-round stage set. Visit U2.com or youtube.com/u2official for details of how to join in this ground-breaking on-line event.

U2 manager Paul McGuinness said – “The band has wanted to do something like this for a long time. As we’re filming the LA show, it’s the perfect opportunity to extend the party beyond the stadium. Fans often travel long distances to come to see U2 – this time U2 can go to them, globally.”

YouTube will be streaming live across five continents. The show will be available in the usual You Tube way, as video-on-demand, following two full replays – after the live stream – on both U2.com and You Tube.

“YouTube is thrilled to be able to provide our global audience with a live streaming performance from one of the world’s greatest bands” – Chris Maxcy, Director of YouTube Partner Development. “We are always looking for new ways to connect fans around the world with their favourite artists, and this is the perfect opportunity to do just that.”

David Archuleta Goes on Tour

Posted on Oct 15, 2009 under American Idol, Concert, Concert Tour, David Archuleta | No Comment

American Idol cutie David Archuleta has recently announced via a video blog that he’s going on tour this Christmas to promote his latest album ‘Christmas from the Heart’ which is already out. David’s a precious little singer and he seemed so excited about going on tour again. You just have to love the young people in the music and entertainment industry who are still so keen on everything. But it’s even more fun to get a look at them a couple of years later and see just how jaded and angst-ridden they become. Here’s to hoping that David doesn’t end up like any of those guys.

Travis Barker Makes Trip to Burn Center

On a Blink 182 tour stop in Atlanta, Travis Barker visited the Joseph M. Still Burn Center, who treated his injuries and friend DJ AM after a plane crash last year. He stopped by with the intention of thanking the doctors that saves his life. The band’s drummer said “I’m here to say ‘thank you’ to everyone who took care of me after the accident. I was sort of unconscious the last time I was here, and I felt like I owed them a big ‘thank you.’” Travis also met with patients being treated at the center and signed autographs for them during his visit.

Kylie Minogue is a True Performer

Posted on Oct 13, 2009 under Concert, Kylie Minogue | No Comment

A diva like Kylie Minogue doesn’t need anything special for her to be amazing – not even music. After experiencing some technical difficulties that put a damper on her concert in Chicago last week, the audience began begging for some disco. And wouldn’t you know it? The crowd got it. The petite singer belted out an impromptu a capella performance of ‘Your Disco Needs You’ to which the crowd happily joined in on. Most singers would have left the stage stomping because something didn’t go right on the show but Kylie is a true performer for staying there and even giving a surprise performance for everyone.
