Lady Gaga is conquering the music world one record at a time. This week, the singer’s album ‘The Fame’ has surpassed Coldplay’s ‘Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends’ as the best selling album in digital music history. The British band has held on to the title for a while, selling about 782,000 copies but there is no stopping the power of the princess of pop as she has sold 783,000. Her fans just keep lifting her up to greater and greater things. She is utterly unstoppable! Congratulations to Lady Gaga and all her fans for achieving this.
It seems that everyone in Girls Aloud is at odds with Nadine Coyle. Member Nicola Roberts revealed that neither she nor any of the other singers of the popular UK girl band have heard from Nadine in months. Nicola says “If I’m really honest, we haven’t spoken to Nadine since we did the Coldplay gig at Wembley in September. I talked to the other girls about it on Monday and no, none of us have heard from her.” She also shared that there was no feud between any of them so you have to wonder what the reason is for the lack of communication.
It looks like Gwyneth Paltrow might be coming to a decision soon about her marriage to Coldplay singer Chris Martin. Despite reports of the rock star being spotted kissing other women, the couple has yet to call it quits but many think that their marriage is on the rocks. One supporter of the actress leaving Chris is none other than Madonna. According to reports, the Queen of Pop thinks that with the right guidance, Gwyneth can have “the perfect divorce, with no squabbling and sharing the children equally.” A source adds “Whenever Gwyneth complains about problems with Chris, Madonna’s solution is she should leave him….Madonna has never liked Chris because he refuses to kiss her butt. The few times they’ve hung out together, their egos clashed big time.”
The Coldplay singer recently admitted that his father seems to be much more of a rock star than himself. Chris Martin said this about his father, Anthony: “My dad is more of a rock star than me. He embraces the lifestyle. People think having your dad on tour would cramp your style. But I don’t have any style – he’s got all the right moves. He’s living the dream. I’m going to check he hasn’t trashed the hotel room before we leave each city.” We could probably say that here the expression “like father, like son” applies the other way around. Chris Martin’s dad probably took his son’s example. He’ll probably pick up a guitar and start his own band sooner than you’d expect.
Actress Gwyneth Paltrow and Singer husband Chris Martin celebrated Valentine’s Day albeit separately. Blame it on Martin’s hectic touring schedule. Paltrow, who admitted she does not even know where Martin is touring now, said it will be a quiet Valentines for her and kids 4-year old Apple and 2-year old Moses. Martin is serious with his career and Paltrow is so supportive especially now that Martin and his band Coldplay just won several Grammy Awards. Paltrow and Martin were both seen in the Grammy where Paltrow was also nominated. The couple may have been in the same venue but were again seen separately as Paltrow opted to stay in the sidelines.
Separate Valentines Day for the couple will surely resurrect rumors that something is amiss in their marriage. Paltrow however said everything is fine with them but they are just not the type who wants to be seen in the red carpet or in photos together. The couple has been married for four years since 2003 but one can only count the number of times they have been photographed together. Gwyneth Paltrow was however gushing over Martin’s victory in last Sunday’s Grammy Awards saying she is the biggest fan of Coldplay. Martin obviously is not fond of discussing his with the press as evident with last year’s BBC interview where he walked out after being asked about Gwyneth Paltrow.
Gwyneth Paltrow broke down in tears after husband Chris Martin sang ‘Fix You’ during a recent Coldplay concert.
The Oscar-winning actress became very emotional when the song – which Chris wrote for Gwyneth following her father’s death in 2002 – was played and couldn’t stop crying.
An onlooker at the New York show said: “Gwyneth was whispering and clapping throughout the show. But when ‘Fix You’ started, she broke down in tears.”
The lyrics in the ballad – which include “Tears stream down your face, when you lose something you cannot replace” – are about Gwyneth and the loss she felt.
After the show, mother-of-two Gwyneth was comforted by Chris, who tried to cheer her up.
The onlooker added: “He noticed she had been crying. He kissed her and made her laugh by pointing out all the things he had screwed up in the show.”
Chris has previously revealed his wife inspires his song writing, saying: “Everything in my life comes up. Gwyneth’s in there. My friends are in there. The way I see the world is in there. The lyrics come out and I just – I try not to get in their way.”
Coldplay front man Chris Martin may be happily married to Gwyneth Paltrow and have two kids together but the singer still feels like an underdog sometimes. In an interview with Rolling Stone, he said “You’ve got to be hungry. If your wife went out with Brad Pitt, you’d want to prove yourself, you know what I mean?” Barack Obama also became a topic of conversation in the article as Chris mentions a reason for hope saying “As soon as Barack Obama becomes president, people will be a bit more optimistic. If Obama was to be president, it would immediately change the whole outside world’s opinion of America overnight.”

Blythe Danner has dismissed reports the couple are going through a bad patch, and says they are still very much in love.
Blythe said: “I’ve never seen two happier parents and people. Happy, happy people. I don’t get it.”
Blythe also quashed rumours Gwyneth is planning to quit Hollywood and focus on raising the couple’s two children, three-year-old daughter Apple and one-year-old son Moses.
The ‘Meet the Parents’ star said: “People are saying Gwyneth isn’t going to go back to work, which is a lot of BS too. She very much wants to go back to work. She’s a great, wonderful actress. But motherhood is very important to her, as it was to me, and she’s finding the balance. And it’s hard to find that balance.”
The couple have been spending a lot of time apart recently as Chris has been holed up in different recording studios working on the new Coldplay album ‘Viva La Vida’, while Gwyneth was busy filming new movie ‘Iron Man’.
