It seems that their latest song, “I Gotta Felling” just became the best sold digital song in history since it just went over the 5,561,000 mark and trampled over “Low” by Flo Rida featuring T-Pain. Not too bad for a stolen song, is it? The Black Eyed Peas are probably feeling very good with themselves about now and the original authors of the song don’t really have anything to complain about given the current circumstances. Does will.i.am know how to do good business or what? He’s probably more of a business man than a musician… especially if you take into account his singing.
At France’s top music awards show, the NRJ Awards in Cannes this past weekend, choreographer Kamel Ouali mistakenly presented the award for best international group to the Black Eyed Peas when the award was actually for German band Tokio Hotel. He told the crowd that the hip hop group was taking home the prize but came back a few minutes later to admit his mistake. Someone needs to get their act together over at the NRJ. The same thing happened last year to Katy Perry who was given the award for best international song when the award was actually meant for Rihanna.

The streets of Chicago were closed early yesterday morning in preparation for a block party for talk show queen Oprah Winfrey.
Michigan Avenue between Wacker Drive and Ohio Street have been closed down to prepare for Winfrey’s block party, to mark the season premiere of The Oprah Winfrey Show on 10 September.
The streets will be shut for an entire day and re-open on Wednesday at 5am. Pedestrians will be allowed on the pavements and given access to buildings within the enclosure – apart from possibly during the show’s two-hour taping.
Jennifer Hudson and the Black Eyed Peas are said to be among the guests expected to attend the premiere.
An entrance for fans who want to join the standing-room-only event will be set up from midday today, at the intersection between Michigan and Ohio.
