President Barack Obama’s 48th birthday will be over before the wax at history’s most famous house of wax has dried.
The star-studded birthday “party” will take place at Madame Tussauds – in Washington. An “Oval Office” at the gallery will feature Michelle Obama, President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Among the figurines will be Beyonce, who the president favoured for his inaugural celebrations. President George W Bush will also join the wax cast which will wear party hats amidst red and yellow balloons.
“Guests in the attraction can join the party in the attraction’s replica Oval Office and have their photograph taken with the president and his party guests,” said Madame Tussauds Washington.
Yes, Rennee Zellweger does have a crush on an American president, but thank God it’s not Obama, because everybody seems to have a crush on Obama these days. No, Renee Zellweger’s new little passion is former US president Jimmy Carter whom she has only good things to say about: “I have a crush on Jimmy Carter. I admit it. He has an extraordinary mind. He’s an exceptional human being. And he writes poetry, for crying out loud. He’s all good things.” Yeah, well, ok, the exceptional human being may be true, but the poetry and mind things are not necessarily good things. I mean, if you look hard enough, you could probably find a serial killer/child molester with a wickedly keen mind who writes poems about his exploits. I wonder if Renee Zellweger would have crush on such an individual as well.
Matt Damon did not witness the inauguration day ceremony of the new President of the United States of America because he was not willing to pay the $50,000 for two tickets, the cost of tickets to see Obama take the oath. Matt had taken keen part in Obama’s election campaign and hoped his efforts would help him get tickets. But that was not to be.
He says, “When I called my contacts from the campaign, they just started laughing: ‘We worked on the campaign for two and a half years, and we’re not going. Forget it.’ Then, they called me back the next day and said, ‘Hey, we’ve got two tickets for you, in the bleachers, and you’ll actually be able to see Obama take the oath. Just $25,000 apiece.”
I’d say that’s a real good decision that he and his wife have made, they have 3 kids to support and $50,000 is really expensive to watch history being made. I think Matt would need to be cast in a couple expensive budget movies like ‘Ocean’s Thirteen’ and the others to have enough money to spend on such things people would never give a miss otherwise.
Marc Anthony & Jennifer Lopez were the star attractions at the “la alfombra roja” – the red carpet – at Union Station Sunday which were part of the inauguration pre-celebration on Sunday.
The couple showed no signs at all of the recent media gossip that the two were nearing a divorce rather they looked very much a couple while posing for the cameras. Lopez wore an elegant electric blue strapless gown while Mark was draped in pinstripes.
It was Lopez who made the first appearance and then a short while later she introduced Anthony. Together they both made a pitch for the new president. “Yes we can,” she said to the cheering crowd. “We all stood together and said ‘Yes we will.’”
The celebrations are truly heart warming and show that America stand united to improving the lives of its people and take measures to correct the financial mess and turmoil that’s gripping the country currently.
Barack Obama hit the beach in Hawaii with his family for the holidays. And who else would follow him the most at this time of the year, well no prizes for guessing – it’s the paparazzi of course.
I must say that Barack Obama has some good abs there to show, may be he is well on his path to shaking a leg on some big ticket Hollywood red carpet.
Yes! Its obvious that you have heard his name in the recent months on every news channel of thee world and finally he has been elected as the next “Most Powerful person on Earth”, who is definitely President of United States of America, but do you know him well?
Let me give you a little run down on Mr. Obama here:
Obama was born in Hawaii and is the son of a white mother and a Kenyan father. He returned to Kenya when he was 2.
He was brought up by his mother and her family, including his beloved grandmother, “Toot,” who died one day before he was elected president.
He graduated from Columbia University, went to Harvard Law School and became the first African-American president of the prestigious Harvard Law Review.
He was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2004, where he sits on several committees, including Foreign Relations, Homeland Security and Veterans’ Affairs.
He first catapulted to the national stage in 2004, delivering the keynote address at the Democratic National Convention.
Obama won the Democratic presidential nomination, beating Sen. Hillary Clinton in a tight primary race on June 4, 2008 and finally won the White House vacancy on November 5, 2008 beating John McCain.
Throughout his election campaign, he had the support of a number of celebs, including Oprah Winfrey, Ben Affleck, Diddy and Scarlett Johansson.
Go Obama!
Beyonce seems to have gotten very fond of her cyborg hand when she showed up for the red carpet at the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards which were held at the Echo Arena last Thursday in Liverpool, England wearing the contraption. The 27-year old singer also gave a live performance of her hit song ‘If I Were a Boy’. Beyonce also talked about the elections last week. She was so overwhelmed when she heard about Barack Obama’s win. She said “I’ve never been so patriotic! I fell asleep crying and smiling at the same time … I woke up with mascara running and a smile on my face!”
in fact he still had enough to say.
Coldplay front man Chris Martin may be happily married to Gwyneth Paltrow and have two kids together but the singer still feels like an underdog sometimes. In an interview with Rolling Stone, he said “You’ve got to be hungry. If your wife went out with Brad Pitt, you’d want to prove yourself, you know what I mean?” Barack Obama also became a topic of conversation in the article as Chris mentions a reason for hope saying “As soon as Barack Obama becomes president, people will be a bit more optimistic. If Obama was to be president, it would immediately change the whole outside world’s opinion of America overnight.”
For those who didn’t hear it before, Joy Behar asked it for us on The View. She said to Barack Obama, presidential candidate, “I understand that you’re related to Brad Pitt, in some way.”
The claim was originally made by the New England Historic Genealogical Society, saying that Brad and Barack are distant cousins. They are related through a man named Edwin Hickman, who died in 1769 in Virginia.
Barack said, “I guess we’re ninth cousins, something, removed – or something. I think he got the better looking side of the gene pool.”
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner have been using the Hollywood clout to push for Barack Obama as the next US President. Last night, the two hit a benefit in Boston.
Ben was all excited about this particular benefit. No, not because he got to check out Teresa Heinz all night, but because he was hanging out with regular people. Ben said, “This isn’t come $1500 a plate event for the elite.” Instead, plates were only $50, or $250 for VIP.
Insiders say Ben won’t dog Hillary Clinton. He says, “This isn’t about casting aspersions.” He also won’t answer any questions about his own possible political aspirations. Hmm, maybe it’ll be President Affleck in a few years.
The stars are really showing their support for the Presidential candidate of their choice and they’re doing it in their own special way. Music producer and Black Eyed Peas member will.i.am wrote a song called ‘Yes, We Can’ which was inspired by Senator Barack Obama’s speech after the New Hampshire primary. Jesse Dylan, son of the legendary Bob Dylan, worked with Will to create an inspiring music video for the song.
The video features the likes of Scarlett Johansson, Kate Walsh, Nick Cannon, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, John Legend, Eric Balfour, Adam Rodriguez, Kelly Hu, Herbie Hancock, Enrique Muriano, Nicole Scherzinger, Common, Harold Perrimeau, Johnathon Schaech, Maya Rubin, Tracee Ellis Ross, Bryan Greenberg, Austin Nicohls, Tatyana Ali and Alfonso Ribeiro.
