Adam Lambert recently slammed Susan Boyle saying that the YouTube sensation’s debut single, the cover of the Rolling Stones’ ‘Wild Horses’ made him cry with laughter. The American Idol alum talked about Susan’s album to Britain’s Gay Times saying “If only it weren’t for Susan Boyle! I’m happy for her success, but that album is terrible. ‘Wild Horses’ is the one that made me laugh the hardest. I just died when I heard it, I was crying with laughter. It was the most horrendous, sacrilegious treatment of that song! Still, when my album charted, it was validating. I was feeling a bit attacked, like I had to vindicate something. I thought: ‘Wow, look what I did.’” Someone sounds very jealous!
I guess America may have spoken too soon about there being an injustice when Kris Allen was announced to be the winner of American Idol because the champion has just proven that he’s got better selling power than Adam Lambert. The gay singer may have had a bigger first week than his nemesis but the numbers for their singles tell of another story. Kris’ ‘Live Like We’re Dying’ has sold just under 500,000 downloads and is at the #27 spot on the Soundscan singles chart while Adam’s ‘For Your Entertainment’ has sold just over 200,000. Adam better figure something out or he might be the next Idol alum to fade into obscurity.
And just when things were starting to look better for the American Idol contestant who recently became a big star, the ghost of Christmas past shows up and spoils all of the fun. It seems that Kris Allen, Adam Lambert’s arch-nemesis from their American Idol days, is back in full force and has greatly surpassed Adam Lambert’s sales of 200000 with his own half a million. It’s probably not the best of news for Adam Lambert, but he’ll bounce back soon enough, especially after he gets his own talk-show. Then he’ll be able to show that Kris Allen who the better star is!
Even though ‘Glee’ is off of the air until American Idol comes to a close, there are rumors going around about certain guest stars on the hit TV musical. One such guest is AI alum Adam Lambert. The singer is rumored to portray a big brother type of mentor for the character of Kurt, played by Chris Colfer, who is struggling with being openly gay. This is one rumor that I’m really hoping to be true. I wonder if they will let Adam’s wild side out for this one. I can’t wait for ‘Glee’ to come back on the air. Why must April be so far away?
It seems that ABC is just not going to give Adam Lambert another brake. They seem to have cancelled his upcoming shows for New Year’s Eve and Jimmy Kimmel. As a response to this, Adam Lambert wrote the following on his twitter account: “Yes, sadly friends, ABC has cancelled my appearances on Kimmel and NYE. don’t blame them. It’s the FCC heat. I AM doing Leno though. And lookin into something for NYE. It’ll all blow over. Let’s focus on being positive!” Do not blame ABC, blame FCC. That might just be the title of Adam Lambert’s new hit-single… he might even do a prequel to that one which could bear the title “When you’re gay, you pay”, since this seems to be ABC’s policy.
