Chikezie Eze gets arrested

Posted on Feb 27, 2010 under American Idol | No Comment

This is a good example about what happens when you don’t win American Idol, for all of you out there who want to give it a shot. Seventh season contestant Chikezie Eze who made it so far as tenth place was recently arrested due to what some are claiming is identity theft. Still, Chikezie Eze is convinced that it’s all just a big misunderstanding: “I haven’t done anything wrong myself and I’m pretty confident nothing is going to happen.” The mix-up occurred because of one of his credit cards he had never used before which didn’t seem to agree too much with the reader. Even the software conspires against those who have been sent home early. Present and future contestants should be on their guard!

Mel B in the running to co-host Dancing With The Stars

Posted on Feb 26, 2010 under Dancing with the Stars, Reality Shows, Spice Girls | No Comment

Hit reality show Dancing with the Stars is about to get a whole lot Scarier.

Former contestant Mel B is in the running to take over as a co-host of the show.

Current co-host Samantha Harris has announced she is leaving the show, and producers are now racing to find a co-host before the celeb dance contest kicks off its new season on March 22 on ABC in the US.

A shortlist of replacements have been drawn up including two former contestants Melissa Rycroft and Brooke Burke.

But according to reports, it’s now Mel B who is the frontrunner to co-host the show.

The singer, Scary Spice in the girl band the Spice Girls, is also no stranger to the show, after she came in second place in season five.

And it has been revealed the mum of two was invited to the ABC studios this week for a screen test.

An announcement on Harris’ replacement is expected shortly.

Abbey Road Not for Sale

Posted on Feb 26, 2010 under Paul McCartney, beatles | No Comment

Either someone got their wires crossed or someone doesn’t want to make a ton of money. The owner of Abbey Road Studios, after a few days of reports that the legendary studio was for sale, has come forward to explain that they have no intention of selling the former home of the Beatles. The rumor grew from the company’s need to find a partner in maintaining the site. EMI is merely searching for someone to pay for the upgrades and that grew into rumors that Abbey Road was for sale. Maybe Andrew Lloyd Webber or Paul McCartney could dig into their pockets to revitalize the place.

Jesus Luz is getting into the music business

Posted on Feb 25, 2010 under Madonna | No Comment

It seems that Madonna’s boyfriend is starting off on the right foot in what might turn out to be a plane-crash of a career. Believe it or not, Jesus Luz apparently managed to sign himself a record deal… and with Warner Brothers, no less. This is what a source said about the model’s upcoming career… and Madonna’s involvement in it: “Madonna was determined to give Jesus all the help she can. She holds a lot of sway at Warners, where she had a deal until very recently. But getting him on the books wasn’t completely plain-sailing. There was a little give and take between her and execs, but a compromise was eventually settled upon.” This is probably just so as Madonna can make-up for the whole A-Rod thing. And so Jesus Luz goes from amateur DJ to Pop star. It’s all champagne and lap-dances from here on.

Elton John Talks Jesus

Posted on Feb 25, 2010 under Elton John | No Comment

Elton John recently had an interview with Parade magazine. The legendary singer talked about a lot of things including Jesus and being gay. He said “I think Jesus was a compassionate, super-intelligent gay man who understood human problems. On the cross, he forgave the people who crucified him. Jesus wanted us to be loving and forgiving. I don’t know what makes people so cruel. Try being a gay woman in the Middle East — you’re as good as dead.” If only people were as understanding and as forgiving as the religious icons that everyone respects. What is wrong with the world?

Lady GaGa’s new concert plans

Posted on Feb 24, 2010 under Concert, Lady Gaga | No Comment

It looks like Lady GaGa is running a bit short on ideas as to how to make her concerts more… special. So she’s decided that the best thing to do in this situation would be to wear a fake penis on the show. This is what Lady GaGa said about her new idea: “I want to wear a dick strapped to my vagina. We all know that one of the biggest talking points of the year was that I have a dick, so why not give them what they want? I also carry myself onstage in a masculine way and sing in a low register. This is not of nowhere, right? I want to comment on that in a beautiful, artistic way. How I wanna show it. And I want to call this piece ‘Lady Gaga Dies Hard.’ Come on, come see me try to persuade everyone to let me wear a penis.” Now it’s probably just a matter of time before Lady GaGa starts showing up with the real thing. The gauntlet has been thrown…

Simon Cowell’s mum Julie wants him to hurry wedding plans

Posted on Feb 23, 2010 under Celebrity Wedding, Simon Cowell | No Comment

Simon Cowell’s mum Julie has said she wants him to get a move on with his wedding plans.

Cowell, 50, recently said he was ’smitten’ with girlfriend Mezhgan Hussainy, 36, and has even hinted marriage and kids may not be too far off.

His mum Julie, 84, said: “Turning 50 has made him reassess his life.

“We’re friends with Michael Winner, who recently got engaged at 73. I’m going to tell Simon not to do a Michael on me as I won’t live that long.”

Cowell has asked Hussainy to move in with him and Julie said: “Although girlfriends have stayed with him in the past, he has never done that before. This seems to make it official.”

She added: “Now I really think marriage and fatherhood are going to happen.”

Kris Allen Visits Haiti

Posted on Feb 23, 2010 under American Idol, Kris Allen | No Comment

American Idol winner Kris Allen recently went to Haiti to meet with UN staff. The 24-year old singer will also be performing on the Idol results show this week and share some footage from his trip. Kris released a statement via MTV saying “The people of Haiti are rebuilding their country, and the U.N. is there to help them every step of the way. I look forward to sharing the images and stories from my trip with Idol viewers across the country.” His visit is part of Idol Gives Back’s charity work. Randy Jackson suggested that this year’s contributions go toward Haiti relief efforts.

Billy Joel getting back together with former wife

Posted on Feb 22, 2010 under LOVE, Marriage | No Comment

Strange how these things work out… for the worse! It looks like Billy Joel is attempting to fix things up with his ex-wife, Katie Lee, who is half his age and is in her current marital position because she cheated on him with a fashion designer while Billy Joel was working hard to support her. Now they are apparently spending more and more time together. There’s never a shortage for gold diggers or poor sobs who take them seriously is there? It’s good to see that Billy Joel still finds the time to keep the delicate balance of the universe still hanging in there.

Cheryl Cole’s husband up to no good

Posted on Feb 22, 2010 under Girls Aloud, Marriage | 1 Comment

It seems the singer’s husband hasn’t really changed his more unpleasant habits. Ashley Cole is apparently being accused of having cheated on Cheryl Cole with the help of an American woman. This is what a source said on the matter: “Ann and a friend got talking to Ashley in a bar in Seattle. They hit it off straight away and they spent most of the rest of that evening by each other’s side.” Apparently this all happened last July when Ashley Cole’s team was touring America. Cheryl Cole is of course devastated by the whole thing… she seems to get over the denial part of all of this pretty quick. Maybe one particular song from Lenny Kravitz might help the troubled couple in their time of need… especially Ashley Cole.

Ellen DeGeneres Makes American Idol Demands

Posted on Feb 22, 2010 under American Idol, Ellen DeGeneres, Paula Abdul, Reality Shows | 2 Comments

Comedian and TV talk show host Ellen DeGeneres is making herself right at home at American Idol with the outrageous demands that she’s been making. Sources on the reality competition show suggest that Ellen has insisted that she gets a $150,000 clothing allowance for custom made clothing while she is on the show. Sources also say that Ellen won’t be taking no for an answer, saying “Ellen feels it’s only fair because Paula received a hefty allowance for hair, makeup and wardrobe.” But the thing is, Paula Abdul wore more than just a pair of pants and a collared shirt every week.

Courtney Love Covers Spin

Posted on Feb 19, 2010 under Courtney Love, Drugs | No Comment

Courtney Love is featured on the cover of the March 2010 issue of Spin magazine. This is the first of three editions for their 25th anniversary. In the accompanying interview, the rock singer talked about drugs. The original member of the band Hole said “I don’t take anything that isn’t prescribed to me. Cocaine, narcotics – those would be tantamount to suicide, and I’m not suicidal.” Does she expect us to believe everything that she’s said? She could only wish. Maybe she was on something when she said this. That or she truly is just delusional. She should have just kept her mouth shut.

Avril Lavigne’s New Man

Posted on Feb 19, 2010 under Avril Lavigne, Dating | No Comment

Sources are claiming that pop punk singer Avril Lavigne is dating the only member of the Kardashian family that refuses to be known as such, Brody Jenner. I’ll leave it up to you guys to decide who ended up lowering their standards on this one. An insider claims that the couple has been hooking up but is trying their best to keep it low key. Who knew that these two actually know what the definition of shame was? Oh well, I wish them the best of luck with the next and last month of their so-called relationship – if they even last that long.

Spice Girls Win Big at Brit Awards

Posted on Feb 18, 2010 under BRIT Awards, Paul McCartney, Spice Girls | No Comment

At the Brit Awards that took place this past Tuesday, the Spice Girls won the coveted Best Performance of the Last 30 Years prize for their 1997 performance of ‘Who Do You Think You Are’. Geri Halliwell and Mel B accepted the award and thanked fans for their unwavering support. The all girl band even beat out the likes of Paul McCartney and Tom Jones for the top prize. Congratulations! I don’t really think that I totally agree with the choice of winners but that’s already done and over with. I’m sure they could have done much worse and I’m glad they didn’t.

Madonna Offers Marriage Counsel

Posted on Feb 17, 2010 under Madonna, Marriage | No Comment

Though no one could care less about Jerry Seinfeld and his new show ‘The Marriage Ref’, it’s being said that a special upcoming guest star should pique everyone’s interest. And mine was definitely piqued! The Queen of Pop Madonna will be on the NBC show listening to married couples ramble about their problems and give them advice. I’m not entirely sure that she’d be the first choice for marriage counseling given her failed marriages and relationships but I am interested to hear what she says. Other guests slated to appear on the show are Ricky Gervais and Matthew Broderick. How do you think they would fare?

Abbey Road studios put up for sale by struggling EMI

Posted on Feb 17, 2010 under beatles | No Comment

Abbey Road, the iconic Beatles stomping ground and EMI studio, has been put up for sale.

The band used the Abbey Road studios to record an album of the same name and put the image of themselves crossing the street outside the studio on the front of its cover. Abbey Road was the band’s haunt for most of the 1960s.

But now battling debt, EMI will put the north London studios in St John’s Wood up for sale.

EMI declined to comment on the sale but it is estimated a sale could reap the music group tens of millions of pounds. EMI faces debts arising from a 2007 buyout by private equity firm Terra Firma.

Whether the sale of the studios includes the Abbey Road brand was not yet known. A media lawyer said: “The brand is worth more than the building. Anybody who wants the studios will want the brand.”

EMI bought the property for £100,000 in 1929. Pink Floyd recorded Dark Side Of The Moon at Abbey Road, while other bands to use the studios include Radiohead, the Manic Street Preachers, Travis and Blur.

John Mayer Talks Exes

Posted on Feb 16, 2010 under Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Simpson, John Mayer, Playboy | No Comment

John Mayer opened up to the March issue of Playboy magazine to talk about his exes and being hesitant about new relationships. The singer talked about Jennifer Aniston and rumors that his song ‘Heartbreak Warrior was about the actress, saying “I want to go on record saying it’s not. That woman would never use heartbreak warfare. That woman was the most communicative, sweetest, kindest person.” John also talked about Jessica Simpson saying “That girl, for me, is a drug. And drugs aren’t good for you if you do lots of them. Yeah, that girl is like crack cocaine to me. Sexually it was crazy. That’s all I’ll say. It was like napalm, sexual napalm.”

Parents slam Howard Stern as rumoured incoming Idol judge

Posted on Feb 15, 2010 under American Idol, Simon Cowell | No Comment

Shock jock Howard Stern’s rumoured addition to the American Idol panel of judges has been slammed by parent activists in the US.

The Parents Television Council demanded the Fox network address the claims.

PTC president Tim Winter said in a statement on Wednesday: “Given American Idol’s extreme popularity with family audiences, I hope that Fox will put the rumours to rest and announce that it has no intention of adding to the show one of the most profane, sexually explicit and anti-family performers in the history of the broadcast medium – either as a guest or as a judge.”

He added: “Unless Stern intends to undergo some sort of moth-to-butterfly metamorphosis – though in his case the change would be more like rattlesnake to labrador retriever – adding him to American Idol would spell immediate death for one of the best franchises in American family entertainment.”

Stern is widely rumoured to be replacing soon-to-be-outgoing star judge Simon Cowell.

Rihanna’s boyfriend is just a friend

Posted on Feb 12, 2010 under Dating, Rihanna | No Comment

It seems that Matt Kemp doesn’t really think his relationship with Rihanna is that serious and he considers they are nothing more than friends. This is what he said about it: “Rihanna is just a friend, a good friend of mine. We went down to Mexico and had fun together. My job is to get my work in, which I’ve been doing. Nothing distracts me from my job, not the contract, or my personal life. When it’s time to play baseball, that’s my job. No distractions.” Right… he probably saw what happened to Chris Brown and with his not so clean track record thought it best that he and Rihanna just stay friends. Looks like the singer is all alone again… where is Justin Timberlake when you need him?

Air Force Pulls White Stripes Ad

Posted on Feb 12, 2010 under Award, Music | No Comment

When the White Stripes threatened legal action for what they assumed was an illegal re-recording of their song used in a recruitment commercial for the Air Force, the military did something they’re definitely not used to – they backed down. The director of public affairs for the Air Force Reserve Command said “The Air Force Reserve commissioned an original piece of music for its one-time, 30-second Super Bowl regional advertisement As soon as we realized there was a question about our ad, we immediately pulled it and have no plan to re-use it. Our goal was only to attract the best and brightest Americans to become Citizen Airmen. We had no intention to use existing music from the White Stripes or any other performer. Any similarity to them or other artists was certainly not intentional.”
