John Mayer Defends James Cameron

Posted on Dec 31, 2009 under John Mayer | No Comment

Director James Cameron was recently caught on tape screaming profanities at an autograph seeker and has been labelled as a great big douche bag which somehow got the attention of fellow douche bag John Mayer. And the singer couldn’t help but to put his two cents in on the whole situation. John took to his blog to defend James, calling the guy who got yelled at an “Obnoxious E-bay Poster Guy” who is involved in a conspiracy with the airlines and journalists to make celebrities look bad. Well, too bad there’s no excuse for the singer because he doesn’t need help in looking bad.

Bono Sings on the Streets

Posted on Dec 31, 2009 under LIVE, U2 | No Comment

Bono alongside Irish singers and songwriters Damien Rice, Glen Hansard and Mundy took their talents to the streets of Dublin for Christmas last week. The group of musicians were busy busking, the term used for street prerformers playing for tips, on Grafton St. With all the proceeds going to Simon Community and the homeless. I wonder how much they made off of their performance. If that came as a surprise to everyone on the street, which I’m pretty sure was, I bet that they got a lot of money just from the sheer shock of seeing them out there doing what they did.

Benji Madden has revealed that he is worried he is getting old.

The Good Charlotte rocker, whose brother Joel is dating Nicole Richie, said that he fears that he is becoming a grumpy old man after finding himself recently complaining about college students.

Madden wrote on his Twitter page: “College kids with their big words and their sandals and their funny hair. I don’t trust ‘em…”

The 30-year-old musician later wrote: “Last tweet = sure sign that I’m getting old. FVCK [sic].”

Madden, who used to date Paris Hilton, is currently believed to be seeing ex-Playboy bunny Holly Madison.

Katy Perry and Russell Brand have enjoyed a holiday in India after splashing out on a house.

The happy couple, who started dating in September, looked in love as they posed in front of the Taj Mahal.

Perry then posted the snap on her Twitter page and joked: “He built this for me…”.

Meanwhile, Brand has spent £2 million on the pair’s new home in The Summit estate in LA – the same gated community where Britney Spears once lived. The house has seven bedrooms and a swimming pool complete with waterfall.

Brand fuelled speculation of a possible engagement when he was spotted shopping for a Cartier diamond earlier this month before selling off his London bachelor pad.

Gwen Stefani Gets Top Honors

Posted on Dec 28, 2009 under Beyonce, Beyonce Knowles, Gwen Stefani, Justin Timberlake | No Comment

Gwen Stefani was recently honored by Popeater who named the artist for having one of the top pop albums of the decade. Joining the No Doubt singer on the list were Beyonce, Amy Winehouse, Kanye West and Justin Timberlake who took the top spot. I bet that was some piece of news that everyone will be celebrating in the New Years. And it seems that Gwen and Gavin will be spending it in England as they were spotted visiting relatives with their kids, 3-year old Kingston and 16-month old Zuma this past weekend. The whole family also enjoyed a stroll through the leaves in Hampstead Heath.

Michael Jackson Stalker Obsessed with Janet Jackson

Posted on Dec 28, 2009 under Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson | No Comment

Law enforcement sources say that the guy who threatened to kill Michael Jackson was obsessed with the King of Pop’s sister Janet Jackson and even believed himself to be married to the singer. A source even said that the same guy also made threats to kill Janet and even showed up at the Jackson family home in Encino. In his rambling letters, the man, Frank Paul Jones, said “The situation … is centered around her confused sexuality.” He goes on to say that if she does not overcome her issue over sexuality, “I’m gonna try to kill every homosexual on the face of the earth. If I can’t save my wife, they can’t be saved.”

Ashanti Stalker Convicted

Posted on Dec 25, 2009 under Singers | 1 Comment

Devar Hurd, the man who stalked and harassed R&B singer Ashanti and her mother with disgusting sexually explicit texts and messages, was found guilty earlier this week of stalking and aggravated harassment. The creep won’t be sentenced until after the holidays, January 11th, but the man’s lawyer feels that a terrible injustice has gone down. He still remains firm that what his client did wasn’t lewd, it was love. He told the press “Sending pictures and texts is not crime. The intent was never to harass Tina or Ashanti. What he wanted was what we all want in life — love.” It’s not exactly the right way to go about it.

Steven Tyler Gets New Manager

Posted on Dec 25, 2009 under Aerosmith | 1 Comment

After leaving his band Aerosmith behind, Steven Tyler has gone and axed his management too. Less than a year after leaving long time manager Trudy Green and signing with Union Entertainment, the rock singer is moving on and is under new management. Steven’s solo career is now being managed by the same guy behind Motley Crue, Allen Kovac. I wonder how long it would take before he gets rid of this one. The singer has been pretty sketchy lately. It really makes you start to believe what the rest of his band mates are saying that he’s back on the drugs.

Sir Elton John and David Furnish will spend Christmas with their godchildren, including Brooklyn Beckham and Elizabeth Hurley’s son Damian, according to Contactmusic.

The couple, who are civil spouses, are godparents to 10 children.

Furnish, 47, said: “We’re going to Venice! We have an apartment there. We’ll try and see them all in the lead-up to Christmas. I saw Damien Hurley, Elizabeth’s son, at the weekend. And I had dinner with the Beckhams two weeks ago, and I saw Brooklyn there.”

He said he and Sir Elton have spent lots of money on presents for their celebrity godchildren because they don’t yet have their own. He said: “All the godchildren will be very well looked after.”

Beyonce’s Parents Release Statement

Posted on Dec 22, 2009 under Beyonce, Family Values | No Comment

Beyonce’s mother Tina Knowles is currently in legal proceedings with her husband and the singer’s manager Mathew Knowles. The soon to be former couple decided to release a statement to The Associated Press regarding their divorce, saying “The decision to end our marriage is an amicable one. We remain friends, parents, and business partners. If anyone is expecting an ugly messy fight, they will be sadly disappointed. We ask for your respect of our privacy as we handle this matter.” Boo! With one of their kids being such a music cash cow, I was hoping for loads of drama to come out of their divorce.

Amy Winehouse reportedly rowed with her goddaughter Dionne Bromfield for speaking out about her relationship with ex-hubby Blake Fielder-Civil.

Winehouse, 26, married Fielder-Civil, 31, in 2007 but they divorced earlier this year and have since been reunited.

It is claimed Bromfield, 13, posted messages on her Facebook page criticising Fielder-Civil and had online disputes with Winehouse’s family.

Winehouse then waded into the row, telling her goddaughter: “Dionne, adult relationships are adult relationships. And what are you doin up so late anyway? Too big for your boots.”

Fielder-Civil recently said in a newspaper interview that he has reunited with Winehouse and they are now engaged.

Kings of Leon is Band of the Year

Kings of Leon lead singer Caleb Followill pops, sprays and chugs champagne in the January 2010 issue of Spin Magazine, which has also named Kings of Leon Band of the Year. When asked about achieving the level of fame that they have, Caleb shared “We definitely got bigger than we wanted to be. You feel like you’ve done something wrong. That woman in mom jeans who’d never let me date her daughter? She likes my music. That’s f—ing not cool. You almost start doing damage control: When people ask you to do stuff, you’re like, ‘No, because I can already tell this record is going to get to a level where people will f—ing hate us.’” That’s definitely a different way to look at it.

Former Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney has hinted that he would like a residency at the O2 Arena in London.

The 67-year-old star will be playing at the venue in Greenwich, south London, on December 22 and said that he ‘quite fancied the idea’ of a run of shows there.

He said: “Last time I ever did that was when The Beatles used to do Christmas shows, and it was brilliant because… you would be there for a week or two.

“It was fantastic, just dossing in your overcoat and everything.”

Artists who have previously played residencies at the O2 include Prince and Britney Spears, and Michael Jackson was due to play 50 dates there before his sudden death in June.

Whitney Houston Covers InStyle

Whitney Houston is on the January 2010 cover of InStyle magazine. The singer opens up about what it’s like to be performing live again, her relationship with her 16-year old daughter and a possible return to film. The 6-time Grammy winner also talked about what it’s like to be a sex symbol at the age of 46, saying “Sexy can be sexual without having to expose a lot of yourself. Your body can express a lot without your having to take off a lot. I try to splash it in there a little bit, just by body movement. A smile, a little glance, the way you lean back says sexy without being too open or offending anyone. Because once they’ve seen it all, they go, ‘Man, I’m bored with that,’ instead of ‘Hmm, what’s she going to do now?’”

Kid Rock and Dave Grohl Do Like Gwen Stefani and Taylor Swift

Posted on Dec 21, 2009 under Gwen Stefani, Taylor Swift | No Comment

Kid Rock and Dave Grohl are doing like Taylor Swift and Gwen Stefani as the two rock stars have also decided to file a lawsuit against a small town bar for allegedly jacking their music. The two singers dropped a serious copyright infringement lawsuit on a Canton, Ohio watering hole called Mallonn’s Grill & Bar because the drinking establishment allegedly didn’t have the licensing it needed to play the tunes. Kid Rock and Dave now want the bar to pony up the money for damages and to stop playing their music immediately. Taylor, Gwen and Bon Jovi have filed similar suits against other bars across the country within the last month.

Rage Against the Machine fighting the good fight

Posted on Dec 17, 2009 under Simon Cowell | No Comment

It seems Rage Against the Machine has started a campaign against Simon Cowell’s minions who dominate the English charts. The rockers are urging people to download their song, “Killing in the name of”, in order to defeat all of the X Factor puppies and their wimpy Christmas song. This is what a Facebook group who supports Rage Against the Machine’s battle declared: “Fed up of Simon Cowell’s latest karaoke act being Christmas No 1? Me too… So who’s up for a mass-purchase of the track Killing In The Name as a protest to the X Factor monotony?” Well, well, looks like somebody finally saw through Simon Cowell’s veil of commercial success. Maybe Rage Against the Machine will start a new era here… the epicness grows bigger and bigger!

Courtney Love’s deceptive daughter

Posted on Dec 17, 2009 under Courtney Love | No Comment

It seems that the singer’s reply to her daughter’s behavior as of late has finally come. This is what Courtney Love said about the recent incidents involving her daughter: “I hate to sound cold but any kid of mine who pulls this shit has lost her position … she was deceptive, she lied and she’s lying to herself. Frances is clearly deluded that can buy her grandmother a small house in LA. I’d love to see how that works. She thinks she has all this money. The point is I have all the money she has.” First of all, Courtney Love could’ve done way better than “deceptive”… or worse, depending on how you look at it. And secondly: this was a power struggle? Gee, and Courtney Love’s daughter would’ve actually had the chance to legally make her mother a nut-case… they just had to make all of this about the money, didn’t they?

Robbie Williams to Join X Factor

Posted on Dec 16, 2009 under Robbie Williams, X Factor | 4 Comments

If all the rumors are true, the upcoming season of X Factor is shaping up to be amazing. Simon Cowell is reportedly bringing in Robbie Williams on to be the 5th judge at the panel – just one of a slew of demands that the Brit has laid on ITV. The other requests includes upping the number of finalists from 12 to 16, extending the series by a month, moving the live shows to London’s Wembley Arena and replacing Dannii Minogue with a new female judge. As far as bringing the former Take That singer as the 5th judge, Simon said that Robbie’s “fun, he’s got good instincts, he doesn’t take himself too seriously and he’s a fun guy to be around.”

Nelly Gets Robbed

Local news stations in St. Louis, Missouri reported that Nelly’s home was almost invaded last week. According to St. Louis County police, there were some people inside the rapper’s home at the time of the incident. They called the cops reporting that someone was breaking in and as soon as the police arrived, the suspect took off. The burglar is being described as a black male in his 20s or 30s, with a mustache and glasses and was wearing a black coat at the time of the incident. There’s really not much to go on. Thankfully, nothing was stolen and more importantly, no one got hurt.

Taylor Swift gives back

Posted on Dec 14, 2009 under Taylor Swift | No Comment

The singer who has had more than amazing accomplishments the last few months recently turned twenty. However, rather than just buy stuff for herself, Taylor Swift decided it would be cool to donate a quarter of a million dollars to schools she has had to deal with over the years. Taylor Swift explained her actions: “Something I wanted to do at the end of this amazing year and especially on my birthday was give back to something I really believe in, which is education. The schools that I went to and the amazing people I got to learn from really turned me into who I am, and I wanted to give back.” Aw, that’s so sweet of Taylor Swfit. Most assuredly the schools will use that money for noble purposes only and not squander it on petty trifles, just as it is always done.
