Hollywood lit up with Emmy Awards after parties which saw celebs in their finery cutting it up into the small hours.
Mary J Blige performed at the Entertainment Tonight and People magazine after party. “Don’t forget how important we are. We are all in this together, whether we like it or not!” she said.
The party was held at the fabulous converted cathedral Vibiana in downtown Los Angeles.
Jon Cryer who won the award for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, was spotted dancing. He was accompanied by his wife, Lisa Joyner. “That’s the great thing about having a driver. We’re going to get wasted in an incredibly short period of time. Give us 20 minutes here, and we’re moving on, wasted! We’re just going to say, `pull over’, barf, and keep going,” he said.
Guests included Emmy winner Toni Collette, Julie Benz of Dexter, David Boreanaz of Bones and sundry other starlets from Melrose Place and other Hollywood dramas.
Emmy host Neil Patrick Harris turned up to groove to Blige.
Others made The Governors Ball at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Alec Baldwin was spied with his best acting Emmy for comedy 30 Rock.
Debra Messing, who had on five-inch heels, was likely to have best summed it all up when she said: “My feet are killing me. I’ve been trying to figure out, strategise. How do I get to that chair to sit down?”
