Grey’s Anatomy wedding date set

It’s the wedding of the year – in television land, at any rate. US TV network ABC has created a website for the upcoming nuptials between two characters on hit medical drama, Grey’s Anatomy. Meredith Grey, played by Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey’s character, Derek ‘McDreamy’ Shepherd, will tie the knot on May 16, according to the theknot.com site. Katherine Heigl’s character Izzie, who’s given credit for creating and maintaining the “official” site, welcomes visitors with a message, saying: “I secretly never thought it would happen either. But it’s real”. She goes on to say that, “Mer put me in charge, I think cause she feels bad that I’m all cancery or something”. The site features pictures of her in a wedding dress, the chance for fans to RSVP and a gift registry. Earlier this month, the Fox television network posted a fake memorial site for Dr Kutner (Kal Penn), after his shocking suicide on their popular show, House.
