Original Bond Girl Suffering From Osteoporosis

Ursula Andress, the 1965 sex goddess who made it to Empire Magazine’s list “100 Sexiest Stars” in the history of film and who will always hold the title of being the original Bond Girl (she played the shell diver Honey Ryder in Dr. NO) is suffering from the debilitating effects of Osteoporosis, a disease that everyone thought was harmless!
The 72-year old former bombshell was diagnosed with osteoporosis as early as eight years ago but refused to take her doctor’s diagnosis seriously. She was asked to take calcium daily to stop her bones from getting weaker but she took the advice for granted. Her body is now being ravaged by the disease and this is freaking her out because she does not want to become a “crippled old lady”.
Andress was told after a bone scan that her bones were brittle that even a gentle fall can cause her hip to break. However, she ignored this as she was not feeling any pain and was confident because she has always eaten well including Calcium-rich food. It may be too late but finally, she is now following her doctor’s orders and is on a strict regime.
Her condition can however service as an inspiration to women who are at risk of getting osteoporosis sine she is in the forefront of a campaign versus osteoporosis in America.
Andress is not only known for her iconic white-bikini moment in Dr. No but she is also a Golden Globe award winner. The white bikini she wore in the movie was auctioned in 2001 for £35,000.
