Tom Cruise has broken his silence and is defending his controversial role as the German colonel famous for a failed attempt to kill Adolf Hitler.
“All I can say is, ‘Save your comments until you see the movie,’ ” Cruise, 49, tells the German weekly, Bunte, regarding the German politicians and media who have attacked his religious beliefs and his decision to play one of Germany’s greatest heroes in his new movie Valkyrie.
“I want to think positive and concentrate on the film,” the actor says in the magazine. “I carry a great responsibility to the Germans, for whom a man like [Colonel Claus Graf Schenk von] Stauffenberg means so much.”
“And I feel this responsibility to the man himself. The more I learn about him, the greater my respect and my admiration of him,” he adds about his character in the wartime thriller surrounding a failed plot by high-ranking military officers to blow up Hitler. Stauffenberg was the man who placed the bomb.
Cruise also reveals that when director Bryan Singer approached him about the role, he tossed a script on his desk with a picture of Stauffenberg on the cover. Says Cruise, “Intuitively I saw a similarity in the profile of this man with myself. Naturally that’s something that makes an actor curious.”
And he insists that filming had to take place in Germany. “We wanted the inner truth, so to speak, and location helps with that.”
Cruise says that he enjoys living in Berlin with wife Katie Holmes and daughter Suri. A personal highlight is Berlin’s Tiergarten park. “To my great delight I’ve discovered that my family and I can walk in the park at night and it’s not dangerous. Fantastic.”

But in real life, according to Star magazine, Jen is known to her poorer pals as a bountiful babe who spares no expense when it comes to footing the bill. I do not know Jennifer, but I do know that she has shown grace and patience with people of the world. I believe she has shown how to walk through hard times, and stay healthy at the same time. I think the level of gossip and tearing people down is way out of control and has been for some time. I am looking forward to seeing Jennifer in more movies. So look out every body Jennifer is all ready at the top she has grace! And health! We shouldn’t be criticizing an actor just for the heck of it. Oliver Hudson and his actress wife Erinn Bartlett are first-time parents of a boy.
Wilder Brooks Hudson was born Aug. 23 in Los Angeles, the couple’s rep said Monday.
“I’m so tired, but I’m on a high, and I want to take in all of it,” Hudson tells
He said the baby was born a few weeks before the due date.
Hudson, 30, star of the CBS comedy Rules of Engagement, and Bartlett, 34, who appeared in the movies Rumor Has It and Raising Helen, have been married for more than a year.
After a four-year relationship, they were engaged in 2004 and married in June 2006 in Mexico in a beachside ceremony attended by Hudson’s sister Kate Hudson, her then-husband Chris Robinson, their son Ryder, now 3, plus Hudson’s mom Goldie Hawn and her partner, Kurt Russell.

Samuel L. Jackson is desperate for a cameo role in the new Indiana Jones movie – so he can stay ahead of Harrison Ford as the world’s box office king. The Pulp Fiction star passed Ford as Hollywood’s most successful actor after appearing in a string of blockbusters, but now he fears the aging icon will reclaim his crown when the fourth Jones movie is released. I think that this is just another media friction that the two are head to head trying to prove whose the king of the box office in Hollywood, both of them are undoubtedly supreme actors and their box office records are impeachable. But to try and create a notion or a sort of scenario that the two are gunning to be office box moguls is a piece of shi* that can only be a Hollywood gossip. No importance should be attached to this story and I hope that the two continue to entertainment us for a lot more time to come. Sheriff’s deputies raided the home of rapper DMX on Friday, seizing several pit bulls and finding the remains of three other dogs but making no arrests.
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office received a tip more than a week ago about dogs being kept in inhumane conditions at the Phoenix-area home, said Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
Detectives visited the home and then called one of the rapper’s lawyers and told him that the conditions for the animals at the property needed to be improved or deputies would take action, Arpaio said. The dogs were not being fed or given water.
Authorities returned to the home Friday.The 36-year-old musician and actor, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was not at home during the raid.
Simmons’ lawyer, Murray Richman, said Simmons hasn’t been in Arizona for at least two months and was “extremely disturbed” to hear the animals weren’t being cared for properly.
“We had a caretaker that wasn’t taking care, that’s what happened,” Richman said. “He loves dogs — he loves these animals. Those dogs are practically his family.”
Richman said he hadn’t been notified of problems at the property until he learned of the raid Friday. Sheriff’s officials said they had contacted another lawyer who works for DMX.
Arpaio said the deputies who served a search warrant at the home Friday seized 12 pit bulls tied up on the property and took them to an old jail that has been converted into an animal shelter.
Deputies found the buried dogs when they dug up the back yard. One had apparently been burned and the cause of death on the others was unknown because the bodies were decomposing.
Deputies also found a variety of firearms, Arpaio said. Authorities sought additional warrants so they could check the guns to determine if they were legal.
DMX’s albums include “It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot” and “Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood” and “Year of the Dog … Again.”

The actress/singer plays Amy, a tattooed party girl that Ted locks lips with while painting the town.
Mandy has expressed how excited she was at the concept of playing someone who is very much unlike her. When she was offered the spot, she could not pass it up. She says she’s nervous but excited at the same time.

Ya that might be their lovely hyped up relationship null and void of emotions yet being together for their lovely daughter Suri. Have breakfast in the morning and leave for work and then return at night to sleep in your private cells. Can’t see them having a better life! Screwed up life rather!
Eleven extras have been injured after falling off a truck on the German set of Tom Cruise’s latest movie, Valkyrie. One man was seriously injured in the accident, which happened when the side of the vehicle burst open as it drove around a corner, Berlin police said. Yeah but look Mr. Cruise could not find time to visit or inquire about the well being of the one person that was seriously injured or about those who were wounded/hurt. Like he is one of those star’s who look like they are never concerned about the well being of the crew and other members working on his movie sets. The movie is more interesting and the plot to kill Hitler in 1944 and a movie on it should be more interesting than Tom Cruise the man himself. Hopefully this is just a one off incident and it does not happen again. Poor guys, they get paid meager amounts to do these scenes in the movies and to get hurt while just sitting in a vehicle can be really innocuous way to get hurt.

Evan also said that Manson is her inspiration. He’s made her feel comfortable enough to come out of her shell and show her writing and creative side which is why she isn’t ruling out a career in music. She says she would love to make an album but that she doesn’t want to be turned as some pop diva.
That works out to 7 hours overtime EVERYDAY that means this person worked like 15 hours Monday thru Friday and 7 hours Saturday and Sunday everyday for 4 months straight… That is absolutely absurd and if this person is working like that harpo Inc and Oprah should be ashamed I am sure that goes against every single labor law out there… Although I have to say I would not complain about a 65,000 dollar overtime bonus, but that is ridiculous how many hours that lady has worked… It’s been hard calculating the extra number of hours that employee might have worked but hopefully I have done it right. $65,000 is at times what some people earn in the whole year selling food at major outlets or something similar, so thumps up to that lady but what did she sleep eat and drink coffee every one hour to finish the work load. Oprah should release the work time sheets of that lady and lets know if she is causing labour unrest in the company.
Paris Hilton stopped traffic recently with the launch of her own clothing line. On Thursday in Los Angeles she launched her new line at a fashionable boutique. The crowd grew so big that police had to be called in to control the masses that swarmed in for a glimpse of the heiress. A lane of traffic had to be closed on Robertson Boulevard to allow for thousands of fans trying to get close to the “Simple Life” star. When asked about her clothing line consisting of shoes, shirts and jeans she says that it’s fun, bright and flashy. She even took a moment to play up the angle that it was affordable. I’m sure there are many people who may actually care about a clothing line by Paris Hilton. My question is, where are all the proceeds going? I would certainly hope she is donating a portion to charity or something. We all know that she’s not exactly hurting for money.
Britney Spears short lived assistant Shannon Funk is under fire with reports of a lesbian affair with the pop star. This week OK! Magazine published photos of Funk and Spears naked together in a swimming pool. She was reportedly cuddling and kissing the star. When asked about the racy photos she says that they were purposely doing it for the cameras, just playing around. Funk only worked for Spears for about a month. When the disastrous photo shoot involving $15,000 worth of ruined clothing occurred, Funk was fired. She made a statement about Britney saying that she is in constant need of affection and reassurance. I find it hard to believe that two girls would get naked for a camera knowing the photos would be splashed across every magazine in the country. And if they did then there must have been some purpose behind it. I certainly don’t think it will help Britney’s current court case. If she really wants to keep her kids, naked photos in the press are unlikely to help her. It’s a wonder that she doesn’t think at all before she acts.
The latest report from the Cruise camp has Tom and Katie’s daughter signing a contract with Baby Gap. Apparently they offered Tom and Katie a lucrative modelling contract for their 16 month old Suri to front an upcoming ad campaign. The first time Suri was ever photographed was in October 2006 for the cover of Vanity Fair magazine. That was after months of speculation about their “alien baby” because they had not yet revealed her to the press. In a way I find it surprising that they are throwing her into Hollywood before she is old enough to even say she wants to. But like many parents they are seeing a way to cash in and make a little extra, even though they don’t really need it. I can safely say that there is nothing about Suri Cruise that is going to make me rush out to Baby Gap, baby or not.
Lou Diamond Phillips finalized his divorce from ex-wife Kelly, agreeing to pay $14,000 a month in spousal and child support and to share custody of their three children, court papers show.
The 45-year-old actor, who appears on TV’s Numb3rs, also agreed to pay a $216,000 lump sum and share with Kelly and his children a portion of any future increases in his current $600,000 yearly salary, the papers show.
The final judgment was filed July 30 in Los Angeles Superior Court and made public on Tuesday.
The couple split in 2005 after 11 years of marriage, with Kelly filing for divorce citing irreconcilable differences. They have three daughters: 10-year-old twins, Isabella and Grace, and 7-year-old Lili.
Arizona Cardinals quarterback Matt Leinart and his former girlfriend, Brynn Cameron, reached a custody deal over their 10-month-old son, Cole, in Los Angeles court Monday.
“Yes, I can confirm that” an agreement was reached, said Ron Rale, an attorney for Cameron, outside the courtroom after a hearing that lasted less than 10 minutes.
Before the hearing, a source close to the case said that child support issues were resolved “a couple weeks ago” and that Monday’s hearing related to custody arrangements only.
Cameron, 21, who plans a return to USC’s basketball team this fall, looked upbeat as she waited with family members before the hearing.
Leinart, 24, did not show in court. Instead, his attorney Laura Wasser (who is also Britney Spears’s divorce lawyer) was on hand.
In a July interview with the Ventura County Star, Cameron criticized Leinart’s parenting, saying she spends “99.9 percent of the time” with Cole and that “it’s been hard when I’m doing all the work, but he gets all the credit.”
Leinart fired back two days later, telling PEOPLE that he’s “gone to great lengths to increase my custodial time with Cole. This includes seeking intervention from the family law court.”
A source close to Leinart added: “He only wants to spend time with his little boy, that’s it. He flies in from Arizona every week to see his baby. [Cameron's] a great mom, he has nothing bad to say about her.”
The athletic pair dated briefly but split in late 2006.
Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker are starring in their latest movie together “Rush Hour 3”. A controversy has risen surrounding the movie in China where it has been banned. Even though Chan is recognized as a national hero the film is at the center of some trouble. Because of a scene involving organized crime and association with Triad gang members, the film has angered Chinese authorities. The Film Bureau has insisted that this isn’t true and that the movie was dropped because China only allows so many foreign films per year to be released there. Often when they are released they are subject to heavy editing and censoring. Gang references and portrayals are probably not a great idea in this society anyway. More violence isn’t really what we need right now. I doubt that it will be all that missed anyway. Even without censoring it’s not something I would make a point of spending money on.
Merv Griffin, famous game show creator, has been hospitalized with prostate cancer. It was discovered during a routine examination. Griffin is 82 years old. He told press that he’d been ready for a vacation but that a hospital stay wasn’t quite what he had in mind. Merv Griffin is credited with creating and producing the hit TV game shows “Jeopardy!” and “Wheel of Fortune”. Access Hollywood has stated that they will be giving updates on Griffin’s condition as it changes. It’s always a sad and unfortunate time when facing life threatening illnesses. The positive thing is that this man didn’t waste his life and there is much to be learned by that. At 82 years old he can look back and say that he did a lot in his time.
