Spears, Federline divorce is final

britney-spears.jpg

Britney Spears’ marriage to Kevin Federline officially ended Monday. “They are divorced,” the pop star’s attorney, Laura Wasser, said after a Superior Court hearing. “Everything is finalized.”

Court Commissioner Scott Gordon signed orders for dissolution of marriage, an alimony agreement and child custody.

The alimony agreement will not be made public unless there is an enforcement issue, Wasser said.

“Most of that tracks the prenup,” the attorney said, without elaborating.

The child custody order was tentatively sealed, pending an Aug. 14 hearing.

“The best interests of the children could be harmed” if the arrangement were not sealed, Gordon said.

Spears married Federline in October 2004, eight months after her first marriage to childhood friend Jason Alexander was annulled. She cited irreconcilable differences when she filed for divorce from Federline on Nov. 7, 2006.

Wasser said that Spears was “OK” with the terms of the settlement but that “she would like to be with her kids more.”

Since February, Spears, 25, and Federline, 29, have shared joint custody of their two sons, 22-month-old Sean Preston and 10-month-old Jayden James.

The Toronto International Film Festival will host the world premieres of “Battle in Seattle,” starring Charlize Theron and Woody Harrelson, and Sean Penn’s “Into the Wild,” organizers said.

Theron’s boyfriend, Stuart Townsend, makes his directing debut with “Battle in Seattle,” which recounts the 1999 clash between demonstrators and police amid the World Trade Organization meeting in Seattle. Joshua Jackson, Ray Liotta, Michelle Rodriguez and Channing Tatum round out the cast.

Penn’s “Into the Wild” is a fact-based portrait of a young man who gives up all luxuries to live in the Alaskan wilderness. The movie stars Marcia Gay Harden, William Hurt and Vince Vaughn, and is due for a late-September theatrical release via Paramount Vantage.

Other titles include Dominik’s “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford,” the Brad Pitt crime drama from Warner Bros. Pictures, and Brit director Wright’s “Atonement,” a classic British romance drama from Focus Features that stars Keira Knightley and James McAvoy.

Also due here is Haynes’ “I’m Not There,” a Bob Dylan-inspired movie starring Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Richard Gere and Heath Ledger, set for a November release by the Weinstein Co.; and Paul Haggis’ “In The Valley of Elah,” a Warner Bros. September release about parents, played by Tommy Lee Jones and Susan Sarandon, who attempt to find their son after he returns from the war in Iraq.

Hilton Denies Marijuana Use

hilton1.jpg

How long did we expect Paris Hilton to remain good and reformed for? She was off to a great start but has since fallen into more drama typical for the heiress. She is currently denying reports that witnesses saw her smoking marijuana at a Hollywood night club. She was with Cisco Adler, the ex-fiancé of a close friend of Hilton’s. How incredibly trashy is that? Paris Hilton’s rep is speaking out to the public insisting that she was not in any way smoking pot that night. When she was released from jail she told Larry King that she had never done drugs in her life. Yeah right. If anyone believes the ridiculous things that come out of her mouth they must be as bad as her. Of course she has done drugs and I’m sure she was that night. The fact is, it really isn’t anybody’s business anyway but Paris is too ashamed to say so. It’s better to just be honest and say so what rather than deny it when we all know it’s a lie.

Britney aide ticketed in Vegas scuffle

britney-spears.jpg

A bodyguard for Britney Spears must face a battery charge after he scuffled with two men trying to photograph the singer and her young sons at a Las Vegas Strip resort, police said Friday.

The bodyguard, Cesar Julio Camera, 37, was accused of grabbing and punching one photographer and pushing another into a wall about 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the spa at the Wynn Las Vegas hotel-casino.

Camera was issued a misdemeanor battery summons after the scuffle.

No serious injuries resulted, police said. Neither Spears, 25, nor the children 22 month old Sean Preston Federline and 10 month old Jayden James Federline — were reported to have been hurt.

“There were no signs of injuries to her or the children, nor is she listed as a victim,” Las Vegas police Sgt. John Loretto said of the singer, songwriter, dancer and actress. She is listed in police reports as a witness, along with one man and five other women.

“The only person issued a citation was Ms. Spears’ private security guard, Mr. Camera,” Loretto said.

A representative at Jive Records, Spears’ record label, did not immediately respond to messages seeking comment, and a Wynn resort spokeswoman declined comment.

A lawyer for Spears’ estranged husband, Kevin Federline, also did not immediately respond to telephone and e-mail messages seeking comment on reports that Spears should not have had the children in Las Vegas. The couple are involved in divorce proceedings in California that according to several reports include restrictions on traveling out-of-state with the boys.

Michael Lohan Hits Back At ‘Lying’ Daughter Aliana

aliana-lohan-u02.jpg

Lindsay Lohan’s father Michael has hit out at his youngest daughter Aliana, after she accused him of failing as a parent. The 13-year-old claims Michael is lying when he has claimed to be a great parent and accuses him of never being there for his kids with ex-wife Dina. I hope Aliana is taking notes on what NOT to do later in life… I may be off base here but it seems to me that the daughter is being fed comments for the media. If the family wants to heal itself and save any more children from following Lindsay I think they all ‘t be taken back. Sounds like their mother is negatively talking about the father to the children. If so, this is dangerous and unfair. What ever is happening is really going to affect Lindsay the most. This is a difficult period for her and she needs the support of her family the most. Knowing that your family is there with you in the most trying condition can really give her the confidence in herself which she is missing today.

Man arrested in Tom Cruise photo plot

tom-cruise.jpg

An Arizona man who allegedly demanded more than $1 million not to publish Tom Cruise’s stolen wedding photographs has been arrested, the actor’s lawyer said Thursday.

David Hans Schmidt, known for brokering deals involving compromising celebrity photos and videos, approached Cruise’s representatives about six weeks ago with photos from the actor’s Italian wedding last year to Katie Holmes, attorney Bertram Fields said. The FBI was contacted.

“He was looking for money, lots of money,” Fields said.

Schmidt, 47, was arrested by federal agents Tuesday, said FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller, but she said the criminal complaint charging him was under seal in federal court and she refused to comment.

Thom Mrozek, a spokesman for the U.S. attorney’s office in Los Angeles, said a judge set bond at $100,000. Schmidt was being held Thursday at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles, according to jail records.

It was not immediately clear if Schmidt had a lawyer or how he obtained the photos.

Schmidt has also been trying to auction off Paris Hilton’s diaries, along with photos of her in various stages of undress and other personal items that had been locked away in a Los Angeles-area storage locker until a few months ago.

Hilton’s publicist, Elliot Mintz, has said the belongings were “illegally seized” from the storage facility.

Latest Bust Jeopardizes Lohan Career

lindsay-lohan-arrested.jpg

Bad PR, countless court appearances and possibly jail may not be the only consequences of Lindsay Lohan’s latest legal misadventure. Maybe if Hollywood stops bending over backwards to reward “stars” for their bad behavior things would change. How many bad movies in a row do people have to make before they stop earning obscene amounts of money? How many arrests/**** tapes/nude pics/drunk outbursts/rehab stints do these “stars” get to have before they are told “enough is enough”? STOP writing about them, STOP doing entertainment shows about them, STOP giving them the spotlight and STOP throwing money at them! START showing these idiots that they don’t get a free pass because they are “stars”. “I Know Who Killed Me”…drugs and alcohol… She has just lost the fear of doing unlawful things, but being a daughter she could atleast think of what her parents might be going through at the moment, the Earth might have fallen down on them. And can the media stop writing about her, so she learns that there is no publicity for devilish acts like these.

Spears Tell All

spears.jpg

Britney Spears has been in discussion with OK! Magazine about an exclusive tell all story. Britney made the call to the magazine’s editor in chief herself to make arrangements for an interview. Apparently Spears wants to set the record straight about the issues with her mother and her divorce. She’s also expected to talk about her short stay in rehab that resulted in the total loss of her mind. I think Britney has a few big misconceptions going on. For some reason she seems to think that we care. There was definitely a time when she was on top of the Hollywood world but those days have been over for quite a long time already. She needs to realize that the very people she is feuding with are the only ones who truly care for her and she should be grateful rather than selfish. Although, can we expect anymore from someone whose been a millionaire since she was sixteen? That’s enough to really throw off your perspective of reality.

Travolta Sues Owners Of Airport

john.jpg

John Travolta sued the owners of the airport outside his exclusive ”fly-in” community, claiming they lied to the Federal Aviation Administration to keep him from landing his Boeing 707 there. In the federal lawsuit filed Wednesday, the actor claims Greystone Airport owners James and Christine Garemore falsely changed the airport master record in 2006 to indicate that it could not support large airplanes. Travolta has a home at the Jumbolair Aviation Estates in Ocala and wanted to fly his Boeing 707 there. It is an affluent, 550-acre community with a $6 million runway - the largest, paved, private airfield in the United States. Not A Big Deal. The runway is an issue because of its poor condition, simply ask the residents for the money to repair it. They should certainly also ask John T. to chip in and then the Sky’s is the limit! End of Story……. He could cough up so much money for his small needs and wishes; he could easily apprise the community of the requirements at the airport and get it done with a small donation from his side.

Latest Harry Potter Book is On Sale

potter.jpg

One minute after midnight last night the final book in the Harry Potter series went on sale. Fans all over the world were lined up at their favorite bookstore, many of them dressed as their favorite character. In the past few weeks speculation about the end of Harry Potter has been at the forefront of entertainment news. When interviews with the author, J.K. Rowling revealed an emotional and heart wrenching ending for the writer it only made curiosity soar. Now that the book is available I’m sure it won’t be long until we all know if Harry dies or not. I’m sure we can’t trust readers to keep that secret for too long. I’ll be surprised if no one just skips right to the end. Maybe now that the story is over life can get back to normal. Perhaps after the final movie the talk about Harry Potter will decrease until he is only mentioned at Halloween, like most other fantasy story characters.
